Prince 11-08-2002, 12:21 PM who in their right mind would pay $500 per month for that?
RackMy.com 11-08-2002, 12:28 PM who in their right mind would pay $500 per month for that? A lot of people, that is not a bad price and iNNERHOST is a great company.
You pay for quality!
Prince 11-08-2002, 12:32 PM yes, you do have to pay for quality, but $500/month for that server is WAY over priced.
good luck selling it! :)
I doubt any WHTers would give that server a swing. Could get corporate clients easily enough though!

As iNNERHOSTREP mentioned, you are not paying $500/month for just a server.
The iMail for starters is $750 for a 25 user license. You're getting 100 users.
Then there's the daily backups. As an example, Dialtone and Datapipe charge $99.95/mth for this.
The patching service is also fully managed and worth $80/mth using Dialtone as a benchmark.
Then there's the SQL Server, and of course the 99.99% uptime with a Service Level Agreement...
rusko 11-08-2002, 02:13 PM the uptime sla is what drives the price in this case. i wouldnt even begin to imagine how i could keep a windows box up 99.99% of the time. thats what you pay for. unless you flamers have experience admin'ing windows boxen and providing that kind of uptime, i dont think you should bother posting.

I don't believe he asked for comments regarding his pricing? It's good to see companies offering some quality solutions at higher prices.
it's useless arguing with whters, they all want the world for nothing.
richy 11-08-2002, 03:05 PM nice offer, considering all thats on offer the price is fair. some people just cant see the bigger picture. sorry some of the locals have spoiled your offer, but theres hill billies everywhere inc wht. good luck :)
clever 11-08-2002, 04:29 PM Rackshack has spoiled the industry.
Especially we have a lot of uneducated cheapos around here.
BUT, who am I so tell..
rusko 11-08-2002, 08:05 PM since when did rackshack:
1. offer windows boxes
2. offer any uptime guarantees, let alone a 99.99% one?
its not rackshacks fault, there have always been, are and will be uneducated people who feel an urge to share their 'expert advice' on issues they know nothing about when noone asked them for comments.
please people, have some decency and dont take over people's threads.
