Any suggestions on what engins to submit to, other than google and altavista? Also any thoughts on weither or not I should submit only my main domain or my subdomains as well.

Google is the only one I usually submit to, I usually find my website gets added to others once its in google. There are others such as lycos, dogpile, teoma etc.

You should find some perl scripts that automatically submit to major search engines. They do them automatically, however... manual submission is the best process.

I'd go for just Google, and submit to others (already mentioned) manually. I found that most of my search hits are from Google. I get more traffic from google in one day than all others combined in a month...

You might also want to list in directories related to your site. I get some ok traffic from directories related to my site.

dmoz.org is another one worth submitting to (well it's a directory but you know what I mean).

and dmoz.org is especially important as it helps your ranking in google.

Great :) thanks for your input.

Would I be banned from google if I submit my subdomains? They belong in different categories.
