NexDog 11-08-2002, 02:14 AM Just curious...:) AceWeb 11-08-2002, 02:37 AM Unless something changed: No, and you are not going to find anyone, yet. In one of the other threads, the mods said that they are not useing that systm it. They are just setting it up for now. Aussie Bob 11-08-2002, 03:05 AM No, but I'm hard at work on getting one. :D AceWeb 11-08-2002, 03:07 AM Originally posted by Aussie Bob No, but I'm hard at work on getting one. :D LOL, I was just reading your thread about it, and was thinking of saying the same thing, but you just did it :stickout: Chicken 11-08-2002, 03:12 AM Originally posted by AceWeb Unless something changed: No, and you are not going to find anyone, yet. In one of the other threads, the mods said that they are not useing that systm it. They are just setting it up for now. We work quickly (sometimes). I think it was finished being set up the day that was posted, so errr.. yes we're using it, though it might need a bit of tweaking to become fully useful. :D AceWeb 11-08-2002, 03:14 AM Originally posted by Chicken We work quickly (sometimes). Can I be the 1st beta tester to get a warning? I am sure Aussie Bob will not mind getting one too. ;) :D SoftWareRevue 11-08-2002, 06:16 AM Originally posted by Chicken We work quickly (sometimes). That is, beyond helping moderators know that someone had been warned. NexDog 11-08-2002, 06:44 AM It's more of a deterrent, I think. ;) Reptilian Feline 11-08-2002, 06:48 AM Is it spam warning levels, or...? How exactly does the system work? RDX1 11-08-2002, 06:55 AM well i seen the hack over at vb.org when a mod sees you doing something well, dumb ect you will get warnings like rasict = 5 spam = 2 off topic =1 and when you get 25 warnings you're banned IM NOT saying this is the system, just what i saw at the demo of the hack Darth 11-08-2002, 06:55 AM Warn Me! ;) susannad 11-08-2002, 08:16 AM how dreary, my warning level is 0 what could I do, do you think, that I could bump my warning level up I'm open to ideas  SoftWareRevue 11-08-2002, 08:19 AM I would suggest spamming the forums with the same copy/paste message about how members should come to your site. No wait. That will only get you banned. Okay. Never mind. net-trend 11-08-2002, 08:21 AM Ok, i got a warning level of a thousand x 10 ! where's my award? susannad 11-08-2002, 08:49 AM OK, should I should try that one and .. what' s this ??????Call me dense; what's that supposed to mean ? oh SWR, oh SoftWareRevue 11-08-2002, 10:01 AM You're gonna hafta move to the States and learn the slang. Just think of "thick headed" then. Or "hard of understanding." Truthfully though, I don't understand why members need to see the "Warning Level." NexDog 11-08-2002, 10:04 AM Again, it is part deterrent. Behave yourself or you're in for public flaying. ;) Reptilian Feline 11-08-2002, 10:14 AM Maybe it should change colour when you get higher up, and start flashing when you reach the top. Chicken 11-08-2002, 10:22 AM Originally posted by SoftWareRevue Call me dense; but what use is it going to server? That is, beyond helping moderators know that someone had been warned. "Going to server" -Dennis has the same problem I do. I can't write 'serve' or 'form' without typing 'server' or 'forum', heh. I know what you meant :D As you said, it helps the moderators know, and it organizes how and when a member will be banned, based on their actions. As I said, it needs some tweaks. I believe that people should know what the warning system is, how it works, what happens if they break the rules, etc. So this needs to be worked on. Originally posted by is0lized well i seen the hack over at vb.org when a mod sees you doing something well, dumb ect you will get warnings like rasict = 5 spam = 2 off topic =1 and when you get 25 warnings you're banned IM NOT saying this is the system, just what i saw at the demo of the hack That is basically it. That's the hack, you can read more about it there, but in general, that gives you the basic idea, as it came out of the box. ScottD 11-08-2002, 10:28 AM Originally posted by SoftWareRevue Call me dense; but what use is it going to server? That is, beyond helping moderators know that someone had been warned. So is it Dense or Dennis? Now you have me confused! I think the warning system is a good idea, it could help unsuspecting vicitims be wary of who they are dealing with. Kinda like the ebay stars system. SoftWareRevue 11-08-2002, 10:38 AM Originally posted by Chicken "Going to server" -Dennis has the same problem I do. I can't write 'serve' or 'form' without typing 'server' or 'forum',. . . . . . . :bawling: Seems I write those words so often. :bawling: I vote that we just use them as synonyms  SoftWareRevue 11-08-2002, 10:40 AM Originally posted by DizixCom So is it Dense or Dennis?. . . . . . Either / or. I'm just being s l o w today. Well s l o w e r than normal. DotComster 11-08-2002, 07:02 PM Grrrrrrrrr unfair! I was warned once (for being dumb) - but that was before the new system! What a waste of a good warning :) mindboggle 11-08-2002, 08:03 PM Yeah, this guy has a 5 for spamming: http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=86455 Phrozen 11-08-2002, 08:12 PM Originally posted by mindboggle Yeah, this guy has a 5 for spamming: http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=86455 I don't even see a warning level field in his profile or on that post... Darth 11-08-2002, 08:14 PM Originally posted by mindboggle Yeah, this guy has a 5 for spamming: http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=86455 I see nothing? Phrozen 11-08-2002, 08:23 PM Weird... now I see it. mindboggle 11-08-2002, 08:23 PM Uh, wtf, don't you guys see warning level fields at the bottom of every post? Phrozen 11-08-2002, 08:37 PM You know... I jusr realized something, and perhaps the rest of you are as dumb as me... NexDog 11-08-2002, 08:55 PM Ah...I see it now...thanks for the insight. ;) Reptilian Feline 11-11-2002, 03:31 AM I found one with a warnign level 6 who seems to be gone now. http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=678803#post678803 If you read what he writes, I'm sure you can make out why. |
