Anyone know anything about hostmysite.com and the special they are advertising about free domain name if you host with them??

Is this a scam or for real?
Any help would be appreciated.

In order to get a "free" domain name you must signup for 1 year with them.

"HostMySite.com is giving away a free .com, .net, or .org domain name with every new yearly web hosting account."

I would not recommend ever signing with a Host for that amount of time, no more than 3 months tops. I prefer 1 month increments.

Their prices could be better along with bandwidth allowances. You could do better elsewhere.

You may want to look at the following (not sure of your budget or needs):
http://www.pair.com http://www.burst.net http://www.site5.com
(hint, ask them if they will waive setup fee)

I've had great luck with HostMySite.com. Their prices are good and the service is outstanding. You might find slightly cheaper prices, but I don't think you will find this kind of service elsewhere. The free domain name offer is great. I signed up for a year and have had no problems. They have a list of customer referrals at http://www.hostmysite.com/testimonials.html

Which domain do you have with them?

This is just my view... I will never sign up any plan which bound me for 1 year to get a domain name. Even domain registration is lot cheaper now ($8 to $10) which is less then $1 per month.

I've just joined Haisoft. They are alot cheeper than hostmysite, their annual charge is cheeper than hostmy sites set up fee.
Just look at this : 40Mb 1000Mb transfer, unlimited users and E.mails for just $15 per year.
Their customer support is great (most of the time they reply within 1 hour, the longest they tool with me was 3 hours. As for hostmysite's free domain offer for $30 PER YEAR you get hosting and Domain with www.haisoft.net.
When I first joind I couldn't believe it, I thought no help setting it up bad server etc... but their server never goes down, is fast and they are very helpfull !

I agree with the above... 1 year is far too long. This very morning I've finally reached the end of my 12 month contract with WebFusion (part of HostEurope) for two dedicated servers. Yes, they were for personal use, no I couldn't afford them, and no I didn't read the terms and conditions properly :(

I think 1 month increments are great, or at the very most 3 months with a 30-day pull out period.
