I have lately had two double posts when doing a quick-replies to threads.

Anyone have any idea what could cause this? A bug, or am I accidentally double-clicking the submitt button?

I had a dupe a couple of days ago but I think it only happened the once (at least nobody has reported me :P).

On reports, we have no more (or less) reports of duplicate posts than the norm.

could we fix this by maybe having the ability ourselves to delete one if there are more then 1 posts?

I don't think vB gives us that option.

I believe you are correct. It does not seem to be something supported by the software. :(

Is it not possible for VB to block double posts? I could have sworn I used a forum once that wouldn't allow duplicates (maybe it was a dream :P).

Dumb question but why not limit posting to 1 post per ~5 seconds?

Is it not possible for VB to block double posts? I believe I've seen a forum noticing double posts, but I don't recall if it was VB based or not.

I believe WHT has that setting on. I would surmise that it may be some kind of bug, unless a double-click-post (if that is what is occurring) somehow evades that limiter.

Yeah usually there's a flood limit to avoid dupe posts.

I've seen other forums have an automerge feature. The second post will appear like an automatically added "Later Edit".
I think this is a very good feature for those who have something to add the the 15 minutes limit has passed already.

I personally find the feature annoying :)

Lol, you should avoid it seriously or they will count in spamming :p

may be you have been turned down with some bug as double loop! or you got some problem with you mouse!

Well I have seen such occurrence in the past with other vB forums but not WHT.
Not sure whether it is a bug but it only happened at that particular forum, and it did not happen anymore now.
