Hello everyone!

First good, great job on these forums, very impressive.

I am in need of some support and ideas.

Basically me and a friend run a sort of, under the table web services business - web design, logo's, marketing products etcetc.

Nothing big at the moment but we are now wanting to expand.

One of the things we want to introduce is a web hosting service, nothing TOO big for now, therefore we want to stick with a reseller package for the time being.

So basically we need your help on the following:

- the best re-seller packages to have a look at
- how do we become a domain reseller
- how to code the hosting and domain reseller packages into our website
- the best type of website to go for? (simple css/complex etc?)

Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Loft.

- the best re-seller packages to have a look at There's no "best" in absolute terms. As such, you're going to have to read threads in the corresponding forum section and decide based on current and old feedback (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php) which provider and package is best *for you*.

- how do we become a domain reseller Some big domain registrars have reseller programs. Godaddy, Enom would be two that come to mind.

- the best type of website to go for? (simple css/complex etc?) What ever fits the purpose. IMHO most hosting companies can get away with relatively simple sites, but you may decide against it if you want to wow your customers and portray the image of a well established company, if that's what your target market falls for. :P

- how to code the hosting and domain reseller packages into our website I'm not sure what you mean. If you're referring to the billing side of things, WHMCS is a quite popular solution around these parts these days, but there are lots of competitors too.

Regarding points 2 and 3. I agree with ldcdc on eNom (not a big fan of GoDaddy however).. Another option is also NetEarthOne.. Both eNom and NetEarthOne are very good providers..

In regards to point 3. This depends on how you want to do it. Basically, with a billing system such as WHMCS you can integrate and automate the domain selling aspect, invoicing, account creations, support etc. all into one interface. You can then integrate WHMCS into your website..ClientExec is also another worthy billing system to consider..

Thanks for the help guys,

from browsing around, I have noticed that allot of reseller packages have actually got WHMCS with them? Is this the case or am I being stupid?

Thanks.
