Excellent price, and nice fast connections too! :D

BiGWill 11-07-2002, 05:58 PM what are your bandwidth providers?
how does your network look like? ;)
best regards,
Alareach 11-07-2002, 06:01 PM I just wanted to say that Matt is a stand-up guy to work with. He is a hard worker and does what it takes to make each client happy. You cannot go wrong with NAC bandwidth and a good guy behind the wheel like Matt.
Good luck to you Matt and Congrats!
:D
PhMatt 11-07-2002, 06:25 PM Alareach,
Thank you very much, I hope I can live up to those wonderful accolades, I'll try my best.
BigWill,
Network page will be up shortly. The bw providers are 2 many to list, it's over 70 peering providers, going through our network. The URL, which will be up in an hour is http://dedicatednow.com/network/
Also, to those of you AIM'ing me, and everyone e-mailing me, I am leaving for the night, so I'll be back in the morning.
Thanks,
wizital 11-07-2002, 06:34 PM Will/do you have toll free support number?
BiGWill 11-07-2002, 06:39 PM so it's Pwebtech bandwidth, formerly known as DJCN? ;)
that'd be a nice mix!
best of luck for your offer.
best regards,
Looks like a really good offer.......
jayglate 11-07-2002, 06:52 PM There is a number for only emergencies use but not for standard support which is email only, atm.

jayglate 11-07-2002, 10:12 PM There really is not true definition of managed so I will will say if you need support, email support@dedicatednow.com and you will get supported for 95% of your issues.

jayglate 11-07-2002, 10:30 PM Just a NOTE: All the PIII we are currently going to be putting up for this special are PIII 1.2Ghz not PIII 1.13
Those are some awesome plans you have there :)
I'm curious if you have the option of possibly installing FreeBSD 4.7 or Red Hat 8.0
Also, what are your prices on selling CPanel licenses without a server (if you do offer this service).
jayglate 11-07-2002, 11:05 PM Yes, we can offer FreeBSD and or Redhat 8 but a setup fee will be incured with those configs. As they are not part of our automated setup system, and will take some time to configure and install. For external cpanel liceses please email matt@pwebtech.com for more info.
Thanx

K2rbka 11-07-2002, 11:35 PM Greetings,
I placed an order for one of these babies, lets see how it turns out :D Pwebtech seems to have a good reputation, so that put a little faith into my purchase decision.
One thing that worries me is the lack of a reply to the order I sent in. Even if automated, it gives me some peace of mind that they received my order or that I didn't just send in my CC information to some (sl)hacker.:crap:
Anyway, regards.
-K2rbka
jayglate 11-07-2002, 11:38 PM Haha, no, this is a rough order system, and isn't fully user freindly yet, i.e. replys that we recieved it, etc.. etc.. Soon we will have a rackshack like auto setup system

RackMy.com 11-08-2002, 12:16 AM Is this the Matthew McCormick from Dialtone/Burst? Wow!
jayglate 11-08-2002, 12:29 AM Yes, it is.

SuzanneB 11-08-2002, 03:58 AM What is your hourly rate for tech support, if it's something not automatically covered? For example, if I wanted Imagemagick installed, what would you charge?
jayglate 11-08-2002, 04:04 AM Something like that we wouldn't bother to charge you for installation. It is 3 rpms really easy we even have a script which you can d/l and have it install itself.
Support out of scope is $75 an hour billed in 15min inctrements 30min min.
SuzanneB 11-08-2002, 04:13 AM How is billing done? If I order today, am I billed on the 8th of every month, or do you prorate then go by calendar month?
jayglate 11-08-2002, 04:14 AM You will be billed monthly the day your sever goes online.

jayglate 11-08-2002, 04:18 AM In case it wasn't mentioned remote reboot one time fee of $50.
SuzanneB 11-08-2002, 04:36 AM Forgive me, I'm a novice. But does that mean that if my server is frozen and I can't get into WHM to reboot it myself, then you would charge $50 for the reboot? Or would you only charge to reboot if it wasn't inaccessible? Or is this something else entirely?
Also, I have a question about the additional RAM fee. Is the one-time fee (with no set-up fee) only applicable during the initial setup of the server ? Or if I order the upgrade later on, would there be a setup fee along with the one time fee?
jayglate 11-08-2002, 04:40 AM $50 one time fee enabled you to power cycle your box to fix that frozen server anytime day or night without having to call or email us.
There is no charge for reboots ever.
Ram is either onetime or setup and monthly. The pricing is listed on our website at www.dedicatednow.com/dedicated/
Very nice deals!
I want to ask some questions about the bandwidth:
- is the 500 GB bandwidth based on actual usage?
- is it fully burstable up to 100 Mbps (uncapped)?
- is MRTG stat installed?
- is this DCJN or NAC?
jayglate 11-08-2002, 04:45 AM Actual usage, fully burstable to 100Mbps, MRTG can be included, but we are workign on a killer managment application which can do alot more than just MRTG :) Also it is DCJN, which is basically NAC Transit with some minor differences. Still has all 100 Plus peers which is what makes NAC great!!

K2rbka 11-08-2002, 05:45 AM Sooner or later will you be able to provide bandwidth usage stats by the MB/GB? Something that works though, unlike RackShack's :p
jayglate 11-08-2002, 05:51 AM We can do that right now.

How much is onetime fee / monthly fee?
wizardgr 11-08-2002, 07:53 AM Nice offer:))))

:)
grandad 11-08-2002, 07:54 AM I have read, understand and agree to all terms stated in the TOS, SLA, and AUP. (Required)
(Order will not be processed unless this is checked)
Your SLA and AUP pages are down, how can someone agree to that?
PhMatt 11-08-2002, 08:57 AM Hi, pages are back up now.
Thanks,
Thanks for the test file. I can get 1.2 MB/s from Verio. That's as good as I can get from my Webreseller server. Very impressive.
jolly 11-08-2002, 10:16 AM Do you also provide other OS and CP's.
And what about the upgrades....
BiGWill 11-08-2002, 10:20 AM i got 4,6mb/s from servint ... very impressive ;)
though your only 10ms away :)
if i'd need a dedicated right now, i'll get get one from you ...
but maybe in the future! :)

Pretty good results, except from Rackshack
PhMatt 11-08-2002, 11:34 AM Do you also provide other OS and CP's.
We will install RH 7.3 by default, any other OS installation would incur our standard hourly support charges of $75 per hour billed in 1/2 hour increments. As for Control Panels, we are only offering cPanel at this time, but you are always welcome to install the CP of your choice.
Thanks,

Also, I have a question about the additional RAM fee. Is the one-time fee (with no set-up fee) only applicable during the initial setup of the server ? Or if I order the upgrade later on, would there be a setup fee along with the one time fee?
Could you answer SuzanneB's questions, please? I want to know too.
-Eric.
Is it possible to get some small 9GB SCSI 10K RPM disc instead os that 60 GB one? Or I'm asking for too much?
PhMatt 11-08-2002, 11:46 AM Certainly, my apologies, the additional services, including RAM, HD's, remote reboots, etc. those prices are constant. Should you order the upgrade later on, you will have the option of either a one-time fee, or a setup and monthly fee, the choice will be yours.

from the ad.
We are currently accepting pre-sales at this point for a release date of 11/15/02.
PhMatt 11-08-2002, 01:49 PM Hi,
Before there's any misunderstanding, these servers will not be setup until the 15th. Prior to the "pre-launch" special, we had a few customers, that assisted us, and took boxes, so that we could coordinate mass production / support / and all other necessary departmental functions w/out hindering our level of service when these servers are released. I have made some exceptions to deploying servers early if people are in binds, and have to move, however, I cannot guarantee early delivery to anyone prior to the 15th, other that to those who have contacted me. On the order page I also had it noted that these servers would not be delivered until the 15th, JIC anyone had missed it. If there was any confusion, please contact me directly, and I will try to assist anyone that I can.
Thanks,
Yes they are real good packages.....Plan 2 being the best. :)
LinuXpert 11-08-2002, 09:59 PM Great offers. Just ordered one P4 box.
-Eric.
If I place an order now, will I be billed only on the 15th?
I just want to be absolutely certain and make sure I'm clear
If I purchase a server today, I will not be billed until November 15 (when I get my server), correct?
LinuXpert 11-08-2002, 11:29 PM As far as I know, you will be billed on the day your server goes online.
Excellent, I'll take your word for it :)
jayglate 11-09-2002, 12:22 AM Correct, you will be billed the day of or the day before your server goes online.

SuzanneB 11-09-2002, 12:28 AM I placed my order last night and received this email from Matt this morning:
This is just a reply template I just wanted you to know that we
have received your order, and that we will be billing these this morning to guarantee your server setup, if there are any problems, and we will contact you immediately. You will receive an e-mail later on once your billing account is setup and active, with a user/password. We appreciate your patronage, and look forward to serving your hosting needs. All servers will begin the monthly recurring billing upon setup. Future orders will be billed and setup within 24 hours, but for the pre-launch special as noted, they will be setup for the 15th. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly.
I'm ok with this, and I realize that there will be a little bit of confusion when starting up a new service. But I thought I'd mention it so everyone can be prepared for charges.

That email didnt really make much sense to me. Seemed like he was contradicting himself!
Can someone from dedicatednow/pwebtech clarify the billing issue? Thanks!
jayglate 11-09-2002, 12:32 AM SuzanneB, just so you know we are trying to get most of the boxen that came in yesterday up tomorrow. We are going to try, but that is why we said the 15th ;)
I ordered a server, but your page still shows 18 servers remaining, so Im wondering if my order went through?
Can you confirm?
jayglate 11-09-2002, 01:23 AM PM me with your name. the ticketer is not automated yet.
Techark 11-09-2002, 01:58 AM How hard will it be to get an add on drive and the remote reboot later. I ordered a server this morning to get in on the no setup deal but will not be using it really until near the end of the month. Once I start putting customers on it I will want a back up drive added and the reboot.
jayglate 11-09-2002, 02:00 AM It will be very easy to add those features later, just email sales@dedicatednow.com and matt will assist you in getting that going when you are ready. Your server will be down for about 15min, while the ugprade is performed and the server is moved to a rack with remote reboot.

Super.. I also sent you guys an email on colo pricing and aa couple of other questions, the form on the web site would not work. So if you run accross that please give me a quote.
Norton 11-09-2002, 12:21 PM What's with the [$299 $0 Setup] line? Is this some shady way of screwing you later on saying there is a $299 fee that you may get hit with? If it is $0 Setup, then just put [$0 Setup]. I was going to order, but I'm very uncomfortable with that line on the form.
NP
WiredMom 11-09-2002, 12:51 PM Norton - the $299 is the "regular" setup fee for the servers - but for their grand opening they are having a no setup fee special - hence the $0.
Techark 11-09-2002, 12:52 PM The way I read it is there is normally a $299.00 setup which has been waved for this special and once the number of servers avaliable reaches 0 on this pre opening offer it will go back to the $299.00 setup.
I am sure Matt or Jayglate will correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think there is anything shady going on.
Pwebtech has been around a while they do not do business like that.
Is the P4 using DDR or SDRAM?
realalien 11-09-2002, 03:53 PM well I'd really sign up immediately... if the IP addresses were not so expensive :(
I know you have to earn some money but really.... is there no way to get cheaper IP addresses? some competitors (which have a good reputation as pwebtech in here) do offer unlimited free ip addresses (I have to fill out the arin form).
Are you going to change this policies... or will 10 ips cost $5 per month... always?
thanks!
I've ordered a server and was wondering, am I suppose to recieve a confirmation email?
jayglate 11-09-2002, 03:58 PM These ip's aren't expesive some competitors charge you $1 per ip with arin justification, we are charging $5 per block of 10 with ARIN justification. realalien, it seems this offer is coming to a close pretty soon, as we have already exceed the amount of servers we were going to offer at this price. So by monday, if you havn't acted excpect the setup fee's to return.
jayglate 11-09-2002, 03:58 PM No, you are not supposed to recieve a confirmation, confiramtions will be sent out manually when matt comes back on monday.

universal2001 11-09-2002, 05:43 PM ips are expensive. i'll miss this offer..
Yeah, IPs are expensive but then again they're cheaper than some places like rackshack. I wish they were free though, like a lot of other places.
diederik 11-09-2002, 06:46 PM Well, a P4 server with 500 GB quality bandwidth for $119 with free setup. I guess they have to make some money, too :)
50 cents seems fair to me.
LinuXpert 11-09-2002, 08:39 PM Yeah, $75 for a class C block is not too bad.
Yea, I wouldn't mind paying 75/month. I'm actually considering it :)
Semaj 11-09-2002, 11:18 PM Hi,
Could you please list all software versions with all options that will be installed by default?
CPANEL ?

With zlib
ImageMagick?
MySQL ? with phpmyadmin?
mod_gzip & PHPAccelerator if possible ?
PostgreSQL ?
Perl ? and Mod_Perl ?
Apache ?
Sendmail ?
ProFTPD ?
Bind ?
GnuPG ?
Mailman with Majordomo?
Openssl ?
Frontpage ?
Imap ?
gd ?
Python ?
Python2 ?
Tomcat ? with JDK ?
Webmail ?

Imagemagjik
Please list others not listed ?
Also, do you offer help in moving our files from our old server to this new one?
jayglate 11-09-2002, 11:23 PM All the below come standard with cpanel except
Imagemagjik
mod_gzip
tomcat
All of which can be installed easily. Cpanel has updated the move script per our request, and is now more functional than ever we would suggest using that with our guidance.

Man you are fast!
I have never used Cpanel so I am not familiar with the move script, can you explain?
Also, can webmin be installed along with cpanel. I am familiar with webmin & could use it for referrence(see what cpanel is doing)?????
I have ordered by the way! Plan 2
jayglate 11-09-2002, 11:33 PM Ok, so you currently are using another platform? Say for how many sites? I wouldn't suggest webmin and cpanel, webmin might interperate things not well, never did it, maybe someone has an opinion on that. But depending on the complexity of your current infrastructure, the move might be free or might incur an hourly fee, please email matt@pwebtech.com, to discuss further.
Semaj 11-09-2002, 11:43 PM Done!
Thanks,,,,,,,,
lezzer 11-10-2002, 12:59 AM he he! yea I just ordered one of your servers too! Looking forward to getting in there. :D
I reckon Cpanel is the best I have used so far. Better than Plesk or Webmin by miles. It is ideal for newbies and those who aren't to familiar with NIX. Has every function you could want, and it seems to be good and stable and pretty secure too. I recommend it, and I only ordered my server through dedicatedNOW because they use Cpanel.
This is a great deal. I just hope it's all as good as every one is making it out to be!
After a month of being messed about by others, I hope this is the one, and I might be able to start getting some work done again, instead of sitting arround waiting for non existant servers to be setup, and then haveing to chase arround for refunds.
Semaj 11-10-2002, 01:44 AM Your demo url isn't working, Could you check on it?
I would really like to see a demo of the cpanel.
Does it have admin, reseller & domain adminisrtator panels?
lezzer 11-10-2002, 01:56 AM Go to www.cpanel.net they have a demo of cpanel there, but I don't think they have a demo of Web Host Manager which comes as part of the package.
And yes it has admin, reseller and client. Web Host Manager is the admin panel. From there you can set-up reseller panels and client panels, and you can make your own custom skins too I think, if you can be bothered.
rusko 11-10-2002, 02:12 AM what would the regular setup fee be for the servers?
Semaj 11-10-2002, 02:14 AM According to their website $299 & $399......
tenshigirl 11-10-2002, 03:08 AM Hello,
Is there anyway that we can pay for the block of IPs just one time? Like a one-time fee or something??
universal2001 11-10-2002, 03:34 AM i noticed that all the serious / bigger web hosts on here are not taking this deal up.. wonder why ;)
dolbyac3 11-10-2002, 03:34 AM ordered a p4 just now :)
You look to have a very strong network.
Do you setup the name server config? I ordered it with WHM/Cpanel and I'm not sure how to setup the name server stuff in WHM. Kinda new to dedicated servers.

How is the offer still going?
Can you clarify the "paid support" to do almost everything (even stuff RS support does for free)?
How long to setup?
Cheers

On the nameserver issue. Can the domain name be paired with the nameservers?
example: thisdomain.com for domain
and nameservers
ns1.thisdomain.com
ns2.thisdomain.com
3 IP's in total using 1 domain name
On a side note, I did put an order in for a P4. I'm currently a reseller with another company that I've had very good service with, but feel it is time to move to dedicated, and your price beats theres, and I have heard good thing about pwebtech over the years on this board, and on SitePoint, so we'll give it a shot.:)
Thanks

jayglate 11-10-2002, 06:34 PM We will support 95% of our support issues, paid issues are similiar to rackspaces paid issues.

pcsearch 11-10-2002, 08:26 PM Well,
Blind faith.
pweb seems to have a decent reputation but I couldnt seem to get any answers for a few questions... so I ordered on the basis of the "good word" of users in this forum and the info provided in this thread.
I'm confused about a few issues but hopefully answers will be forthcoming as we move towards setup.
Crossing my fingers when it comes to a business decision is not a move that is comfortable for me...I hope this goes well.....:)

jayglate 11-10-2002, 09:49 PM There is no contract period, and we are hardly a new company. We have been around since 1997, which is older than most of the companies here on WHT and in this industry.

Yes, you can! But Im not sure if you want them to install it and/or whether they will install it for you. But theoretically yes, plesk can be installed!

jayglate 11-11-2002, 01:43 AM Maybe, we dont' have the binaries to plesk 5.0 But we will see what we can do .

If you have no experience with linux or dedicated servers, then a dedicated server is not for you. Support comes for small issues, but you're generally expected to know a little bit about linux when you order an unmanaged server.
There are plenty of resources available to get you started on linux and server management:
http://www.linuxnewbie.org
http://www.linuxhelp.net/guides
A search for "Linux Help" on Google should also help you.

Yes, you can choose either a one-time fee, or a setup and recurring monthly fee on HD's. These will be available in the future, and do not necessarily need to be ordered at the initial time of setup.
The 12PM EST cutoff time is final, basically giving me time to reply to all sales inquiries from the weekend. We have anticipated the volume of sales, and all servers will be setup by the 15th as promised, but the sale pricing definitely ends now in 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Thanks,
PhMatt 11-11-2002, 01:02 PM Quick Update,
the $0 setup sale is over now. We will begin accepting orders for fulfillment on 11/18/02 as we are working on all the orders that came in for this grand opening special. Thanks to all for your input and feedback, and we look forward to assisting you in the future.
Sincerely,
hostchamp 11-11-2002, 02:12 PM Matt,
I got your confirmation email, so i hope my order with $0 setup is in there.

wizardgr 11-11-2002, 03:13 PM Hi

I think that would be great ......
thanks
:)
Semaj 11-11-2002, 07:42 PM Just wanted to verify if you received my order?
A support forum would be great. I think it would also lower your support work as other DedicatedNOW customers could help each other ;)
Semaj: I believe you should have recieved an email.
simplenet 11-12-2002, 10:30 PM I just made the deadline. I really look forward to working with Matt again.
I hope there wont be any delay in getting the servers now! Id hate that especially since Ive already been billed!
Don't worry, I believe they're going to do their best not to disappoint their pre-sale customers on their grand opening on Nov 15th
simplenet 11-13-2002, 01:01 PM Well in two more days we will know. Right?
My CC was also billed for the server, but I also received a email explaining what was to happen.

PhMatt 11-13-2002, 04:32 PM Hi All,
Just wanted to clarify some things real quick for everyone. Servers will absolutely be deployed on or before 11/15/02, as we will do anything and everything possible to make certain there are no delays.
We are working on a support forums, as a lot of people have shown an interest in this, so we will happily comply, it just may take a few weeks to setup properly, but I will notify all clients of it when available.
When I received orders (except over the weekend as I was not here) I replied back to each order individually letting people know that we had received the order. Upon setup of servers, welcome letters will go out, and you will have your login information to the billing systems. Inadvertently, I sent out a message that people would get their billing info first, but that won't happen until the server goes online.
For anyone who PM's me, I apologize, I have not had time to go through them yet, and have been answering e-mails and AIM's most of the day, please e-mail me directly at matt@pwebtech.com so that I can assist anyone with questions.
If I missed anything, please do let me know.
Thanks to everyone,

Really? I was billed on the same day I ordered or the very next day.
lezzer 11-13-2002, 05:33 PM I got a confirmation email after ordering, but I haven't been billed yet either. Maybe they process the payment when the server actually goes live. I have sent an email to support a day ago, but no reply yet. I really do hope that I actually have got a server coming!!
wsdhnet 11-13-2002, 05:38 PM I figured out what happened, there was a problem with the CC, I guess I entered the number wrong and the billing wouldn't go through. Talked to Jackie in Billing and she got it all fixed.
Hope to have a server by the end of the week!
John

Well I am just glad that I have been billed now. I was woried it might not go through and that I would loose my server! It's unusual to be glad that I have been billed!!
I imagine they have billed us before setting the servers up to avoid getting stung. Makes sense. I should think the rebills will be "on the anniversary of the order" or the first billing date. Give or take a few days.
Well the box should be ready tomorow if not before. I am looking forward to it! :)
Yeah, I'm also excited to get the server
It's been a long time since I haven't tried CPanel, so I hope it's much stable and reliable now.

I think they have enough common sense to do that! :D
PhMatt 11-15-2002, 05:10 PM E-mails were just sent out to all clients awaiting their servers alerting them to this important information. They will receive this letter at or before they receive their welcome letter. As expected we sold an enormous amount of servers, and this has turned into a team effort to get all boxes up as promised for our launch date. We well exceeded the initial product offering, but because of the response, we allowed the sale of a few more. It would take too much time for one individual to send out letters once all boxes were complete, and we wanted to give customers a chance to update their registrars ASAP with any information they needed to. I also sent out an update letter last night explaining the situation, and that customers would be required to wait until a specific time to login to the boxes.
If anyone has any questions, please contact me directly.
Thanks all to your continued support,
Sincerely,
jayglate 11-15-2002, 05:27 PM We are sending a mass email out to all clients now.

lezzer 11-15-2002, 09:15 PM well only 50 mins to go then. They did say that everyone would have got thier login info and welcome email by 9pm EST / 2am GMT, so if you haven't had it in 50 mins, I would get in touch with them.
I think I will wait until after 2am GMT just to make sure I don't get that $300 bill chucked at me! Maybe they might send out an email and give the ok to go aead.
Well not long now. Wonder if I can stay sober!! :buck:
wsdhnet 11-15-2002, 09:17 PM Personally, I never do anything to my computer after 9pm. Everytime I have screwed up a computer it has been after 9pm when I am tired and not paying attention.
I can wait until tomorrow...
John
lezzer 11-15-2002, 09:26 PM Yes avoid logging into a remote server when you are inebriated or stoned! That's a good bit of advice, but sadly if you are reading this while inebriated or stoned, you are unlikely to remember it! :homer:
Isnt it time now? I tried to ping the server and I keep getting either 100% packet loss or 50% packet loss at best! :( Havent tried logging in yet, just thought Id give it a little while more.
5 minutes past 9pm eastern and my root pass doesn't work

My root pass doesnt work too! Also it is very slow, I type root for username and had to wait for about 3 whole minutes before it prompted me for password. And after that password wouldnt work! :(
Not looking good!
Yea, my ping times are pretty random hehe. 85ms, 95ms 120ms...pretty big range...
My CPanel login doesn't even exist :(
Matts not online! Ive sent an email to support! Hope to hear from them soon!

Yup, looks like cpanel hasnt been installed yet! I dont care about that, I can do it myself as long as they get my IP added to darkorbs valid license db.
It's possible the servers aren't quite ready. They might not have changed our root passwords because they are working on getting our servers up still and they might not have installed CPanel because like I said, they are still working on the servers. Just my thoughts ;)
lezzer 11-15-2002, 10:15 PM Hmmm not good. Just getting a DNS error. Maybe they aren't ready yet. :crap:
Yeah, looks like they arent ready yet! But it looks like theyre working on the issue since now I get an average of 45-55ms ping times. Going for a cig break, hopefully all will be ready by the time I get back!
Yes, my pings are much more stable, 85ms and 84ms :)
Yay! progress ;)

Nah, I chain smoke! :( Been without one since 8.45 PM EST and seeing the servers arent ready yet, might as well.
I'm getting pretty ansy myself as it's almost 30 minutes past 9pm eastern. I was really excited too, kind of killed the suspense :stickout:
I'm not too worried because I don't need my server right away but I would like to get in the instant it's up so that I can secure it properly because I'm paranoid ;)

I chain smoke too. Is this a common thing with people who lease servers from dedicatedNow?
I am a bit woried about this. Still not getting in. Maybe it is because they are just getting going. Or.... maybe we have all been done! I bloody hope not!! :bawling:
lezzer 11-15-2002, 10:41 PM Not mine. :(
Sorry :(
Just know that they ARE getting them up so have hope!
simplenet 11-15-2002, 10:48 PM 9:50pm and I get DNS error when trying to connect to my Server.
Hmmmmmmm
I was able to get in and cpanel also looks installed, but they screwed up the partition structure, even though I had specifically requested custom partitions! :( And I had paid for an additional 512 MB RAM for a total 1 GB, but my system shows only 512 MB total. :(
Hope theyll fix all this soon!
Techark 11-15-2002, 11:03 PM Mine is up an running and I am going thru WHM now setting everything up.
I am sure yours will be ready soon.

http://ipaddress:2082 for cpanel
http://ipaddress:2086 for whm
gilberto_a 11-16-2002, 12:01 AM Thanks.
I also wanted to install Tomcat (for JSP). What is the best way to install it, I know that cPanel as some options for it, but wanted to know what your experience has been. What is the easiest way, basically.

I would suggest you create a separate thread in the "Technical" forum for such issues!
wsdhnet 11-16-2002, 12:04 AM Can't get into mine. Will try in the a.m.
Anyone know if they installed firewall and chkrootkits?
John
wizital 11-16-2002, 12:31 AM Can't get into mine either.
They missed the target date (opening date ?!).
Do we get something back in return? ;)
Nope, they had a user called "jason" though
wizital 11-16-2002, 12:34 AM
erobs 11-16-2002, 12:43 AM who else still does not have access. My ping times seem good, and cpanel and WHM answer, it is just not accepting my password.
Thanks,
Rob
