View Full Version : Nocster Support
shimmy 11-07-2002, 02:25 PM Can someone tell me if Nocster ever answers thier AIM messages? I sent them messages yesterday and today with no results. One person actually replied back to me yesterday, and said "Hold on, I'll look into it", and I never heard from that person again. Then I opened a support ticket, they then asked me for my root password, I gave it to them, and again never heard from them. Is support always this bad?
hpeters998 11-07-2002, 02:31 PM Hey,

Prince 11-07-2002, 03:11 PM They always answer support tickets, but it can take as long as 24 hours. If you do not get a response after 24 hours, submit a new ticket.
as far as AIM, I tried that once, and after th initial "hi, can I help you?" I never got another response, so I do not understand why they even advertise their AIM support.
mahinder 11-07-2002, 03:17 PM Hi
as far my experience with nocster support is concerned there support is good. It really depends upon type of question you are asking them on AIM.
If you have asked them about billing or sendmail support problem on AIM its most likely, you may not get response.
Many issues on server require technician work and understanbily can not be handled on AIM.
Yes they do always answer on AIM and i think, if you ask them reasonable support stuff which can be done immediately, like rebooting server, network problem or emergency issues, they will give you highest priority. I have really buged them many times but only for emergency issues only and they do always response no matter weather its 3:00 pm or 3:00 am.
I am sure they will get back to you on this, its just my experience with them, they are always nice in replying and provide sufficient details and explanation for problems.
thumbs up for nocster support :agree:

Thanks, I'll try those. 48 hours later and still no response to my support ticket
mainarea 11-08-2002, 10:45 AM Support ticket response = way too long
AIM response = If somebody good is there, you will get helped (if they are idle, ask one of their other screennames if anybody is at the other, and if not ask them to get somebody
Phone support = GREAT!
Phone support is the best way to go, but when I couldnt get to a phone, they upgraded my kernel and scanned my hard drive for errors over AIM.

What's the phone number for tech support? Their contact page says the phone numbers ore only for Sales Inquires. AIM still has no reply.
control 11-08-2002, 01:41 PM they are pretty good but sometimes...

You don't have to mention that you're a nocster customer, but if they find out that you are, they'll still help you if you tell them you can't get through to anybody on AIM.

jegefe 11-09-2002, 10:36 AM i am a nocster customer.
lately, i have had some trouble getting tickets answered. my server has gone down twice this week - after months of flawless performance. ok, this probably isn't their fault, but i can't get in touch with them for a reboot.
in the last several months, i have NEVER seen them on AIM. BurstNet is always offline, and all the other names: burstdave, burstnetsupport etc. are blocked - whatever that means (i don't use AIM much, i only installed it for nocster).
they claim they are nearly always on AIM- assuming that is true, why would my AIM say they are offline?
nocster dedicated server customers are supposed to have access to a pager number, but i wan't given one.
mainarea 11-09-2002, 10:39 AM BurstNET hasn't been on lately - for only two or three days, it had an away message saying they had two new screennames:
BurstNOCSupport
BurstNETSupport
Way too short for the change, and I don't think it's on the website.

so, how do you dial an 11 digit phone number?
Chicken 11-09-2002, 04:04 PM Well, you actually only have to dial 1-877-BURSTNE but that isn't exactly a help with retention, so the extra letter is added to complete the name.
