tenshigirl 11-07-2002, 01:39 PM Hi,
Has any hear of http://beachcomber-creations.com and whether they are good for dedicated servers or not?
I tried doing a search and came up with nothing.
Thanks!
mbonner 11-07-2002, 02:00 PM Hello tenshigirl.
I have just this week purchased a dedicated server through beachcomber-creations. I had tried 2 other dedicated servers before this and neither of them worked for me. I have had no problems with this one. The control panels are easy to work with, even for a newbie like myself. Mark is a great guy. Will help in any way possible to find the best solution for your needs. I'm so impressed with Mark and his service that I'm about to purchase a second server from him.
I wish you the best of luck.

mikeh156 11-07-2002, 02:04 PM I just want you to know that I was with a number of outfits before I found Beachcomber Creations. They by far are one of the best of the best as far as I'm concerned. I have had nothing but the best of equipment and service from Mark at Beachcomber. I have been with them for a few months now and wish I had found them a long time ago. You can't go wrong with them.

Anworks 11-07-2002, 02:10 PM I have had a dedicated server with beachcomber for the past 5 months and it has been great. No downtime at all on the server and Mark has been great with support when I needed help along the way. The price is not bad and the support is well worth it, I wouldnt host anywhere else unless I bought my own multi-million dollar NOC. Hope this helps
Chris
3 praize posts all from newbies and this is their first post! Sounds fishy!
adamstew 11-07-2002, 02:19 PM Ive been with Beach-comber creations for about a month...Mark has been excellent! Knowledgable and a fun guy to talk too! Server uptime has been excellent! And for the price, its awesome!
I have found it to one of the most professional and up to date companies on the internet today.
Their response is very quick to any problems that you may have and their prices are very reasonable for their servers.
I have been in the Business Consulting field since 1965 and I highly recommend them to my clients if they need hosting or their own servers.
If all companies on the internet today had the same respect and knowledge as Mark has for his clients it truly would be a great internet system.

lisalisa 11-07-2002, 03:51 PM Hello,
Hmmm praise posts...
You Got It!
They ask, we answer.
I have been server hopping for over 2 yrs.
BeachComber Creations is the first place I feel stable and secure at. Mark is very helpful. I would highly recommend him to anyone who asks.

GBGServers 11-07-2002, 03:57 PM I lease a server from beachcomber. I gave them a shot because their prices were so reasonable. I run a game server hosting company and I run some of the game servers on the server I have from beachcomber. The servers are excellent. The service is excellent , not that I have ever really needed any. Although the one time I did beachcomber was right on top of it and had the problem resolved quickly.
The services I host are considered mission critical.
Heres what i have to say about it,
If you want superior hosting on excellent servers and a superior network at bargain prices go with beachcomber.
I have a server with dialtone internet. i pay over twice as much for a server thats half the speed with 1/3rd of the bandwidth with dialtone. needless to say after my expierence with beachcomber I am having the dialtone server shut off and im getting another server from beachcomber.
Unless you have tons of money just to burn , I would highly recommend giving beachcomber a shot.
There is nothing fishing about it, when a company gives it's clients the best of service and at great prices. They should receive the best exposure. There should be more companies on the net like them and they deserve every word of thanks and praize. I tip my hat to them for all they have done for me and my clients in providing only the best and standing behind everything they sell.
Andrew 11-07-2002, 05:23 PM hmm...curious as to why I haven't heard of them before.
Mango 11-07-2002, 05:27 PM Wow... most remarkable...
rusko 11-07-2002, 05:27 PM i went to their website and they state that they have asked their clients to post their opinions in this thread. nothing fishy about that. though i would have expcted that people would have had at least some problems.
Andrew 11-07-2002, 05:39 PM Their Q&A page is pretty cool.
I still want to know why I've never heard of them! :)
How could they offer servers without telling me first? :stickout:
ServerCorps 11-07-2002, 07:22 PM I'm very suspicious of a company that:
-many have never heard of on this forum
-Has a bunch of praise from NEW forum users
-The bottom of the main page has hidden(white text on white bg) hyperlinks for about 40 other funny-sounding domains that all point to theirs
Mango 11-07-2002, 07:25 PM Hmmm... perhaps Chicken could check some IP addresses ? ;)
lisalisa 11-07-2002, 07:37 PM LOLOLOLOL!!!
You guys must be jealous...it's sooo obvious....
They're a good company, how hard is that to believe?
They ARE out there...
Lisa
rusko 11-07-2002, 07:48 PM the hyperlinks are probably search engine spam - a dubious but effective (or at least used to be) tactic
lisalisa 11-07-2002, 07:51 PM I head about them from MikeH..a poster above....
Not from a search engine...
and Mike Bonner heard about them from ME...
word of mouth goes a lot farther than a search on Google.
Are the *********'s coming...?

This seems to be where the reviews are coming from. There won't be any ****'s coming just yet.

They aren't jealous. Unfortunately, past unscrupulous hosts have spammed the forum and 99.99% of the time when you see a thread full of praises by new members it is spam. Pity, but sadly true. We got loads of reports on this thread, heh. Blame those past dishonest hosts for the suspicion.
rkyler 11-08-2002, 01:32 PM Why so many newbie posts, because Mark saw this thread, and told his clients, to leave a post and say what they wanted. That is probably why. The service is great. Believe it!:)
adamstew 11-08-2002, 08:19 PM yeah, I received an email from Mark with a URL to this thread. Cant say I blame him, a lot of my hosting account customers on my server from beachcomber have come from this forum.
DragonsHost 11-09-2002, 07:31 AM :D If you are overly concerned about his service and all the newbie postings..... pick up the phone and call Mark. You will find him to be Knowledgeable and courteous. Then, once you decide to use his services... you will find him to be honest and truly there for his customers 100%. Mark is more of a "hands on" guy.. and that is worth twice what he charges. You will not find better service or support.
Check the perfect "HostSearch" rating, and he is registered with BBB online. Let go of the worry.... and come on over to the beach!
Chicken 11-09-2002, 12:37 PM OK now, you don't have to sell it for him, just post your experiences (time with service, URL, etc.). That'll do thanks.

-The bottom of the main page has hidden(white text on white bg) hyperlinks for about 40 other funny-sounding domains that all point to theirs I would have to agree. Any site using "hidden" text (it's on every page, looks like) is doing so to fool Search Engines or fool Visitors. Not only does it show signs of the site owner willing to do things underhanded or not quite right, it is also a very, very, old spamming technique -- as far as Search Engines are concerned.
Regardless of anything else offered or provided at this site, it should make one wonder (I know it does me) about someone's business ethics. Perhaps, the pages were done by someone else and the site owner does not know, that hidden text on Web pages is not a good thing?
mpierre 12-04-2002, 08:33 AM Hi ! This is MY praise...
Indeed, Mark did ask me to post on this forum, but didn't tell me what to say.
Not that he needed too !!! I have never seen a company as good as his !
Call him ! Or IM him... He is trully available...
I ordered one of the Thanksgiving dedicated servers. It was promised to be delivered in the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, but was actually delivered the night before !
I webmaster around 30 different websites, and have been doing so for years...
I got my first reseller plan 3 years ago to save on hosting my own sites.
I started trully reselling 2 years ago. My average response time is 6 hours to questions of my customers, which includes the night when I sleep and questions which takes time to investigate.
However, after having tried over 30 webhosting companies, NEVER had I came accross a company with a level support as high as I provided... until I signed up with Beachcombers.
Not only did they reply to my questions and solved my problems in a timely manner, they also anticipated my questions and instead of only solving my issues they also guided me on aquiring autonomy.
This is trully an amazing host !
mainarea 12-04-2002, 11:54 AM Well, it seems that they've changed most of the content that they stole from Nocster/Burst, but some is still on this page... http://beachcomber-creations.com/reseller.shtml .

That's very deductive of you to conclude Beachcomber "stole" content, without asking anyone first. But for the record, Beachcomber was given permission to use site content, as most resellers are, and has ALWAYS requested permission to use such content from Burst, Nocster, and DedicatedNOW. I know he also has servers elsewhere, on different networks, but I personally gave him permission for both sites to use (when I previously was employed by Burst, and now at DedicatedNOW) So, no, he (Mark) did not STEAL anything, he requested to use such information, and was granted permission.
Thanks,
mainarea 12-04-2002, 01:06 PM I guess I was wrong, I remember that a while ago, somebody posted something about the "stolen" content, and all pages that weren't actually selling a product through a Burst.net service had the design changed.
