I know this is general, but I've been working on the features and pricing of the plans I'm going to offer. If you have 3 or 4 available, pretty much equally spread from the $8.95 to $35.95 range, does the 8.95 sell the most? What is the rough ratio? I'm guessing that unless it has some vital features restricted, most people would start on the low end and see if they need more later? Just curious if there are any variations in real world results. Thanks.

For us the $7.95 plan sells the most next to the $3.95 plan.

For us it's always the low end package... second is our top end package.

The custom plans always sell more for us. It seems that always the customers need something more or something less from what our standard plans offer. Generally, they get plans with a price between 8$-->14$. They usually don't want to pay more than 10$. Some people that know what they want and what they'll use hit straight big plans like one we have with 22$.

We just did an account audit today actually.

Our Basic Plan ($9.95) outsells the others quite a bit
It's the second lowest plan in the range.

The cheapest plan always sells the best by my experiences.

Our cheapest is $5.99, but I have even thought of offering a $3.99 plan, just to serve as a 'loss leader'.

What is more important is converting your low level customers to higher plans. We convert over 50% of our level 1 ($5.99) and level 2 ($7.99) customers within 3 months. The plan is simple and straight forward.

Once a customers signs up, they really love CPANEL5, and since we are so small, the support is very personal and prompt. I email, and print mail them upgrade offers that are very very attractive after 60 days.

It has worked well...

The low end plan will always sell the most. Our average site is about 3MB and static. Our bottom plan is 100MB.

Not always, the 200 MB plan, is our 4th lowest plan, the 20 MB plan, which is the lowest, is the 4th in sell.

Most of my sales are on the lower end packages and the rest are fairly evenly spread out.

I think I read or heard somewhere (one of those boost your sales type things) that the second level of a range of any service plans will usually attract the most interest, because generally speaking folks wont always want to be seen going for the cheapest. It's certainly true in our experience...the second level of any of our labels has always been the most popular.

Well, whether it's true or not, that pans out for us as well, so it sounds like good information.

I notice this with out reseller packages, the 2nd is the most popular @ $35. With our virtual plans, our plans 1 & 2 are pretty much tied.

Yipee :)
