Can only double up to 8GB. - Does that mean that the maximum base amount is 4GB, for 8GB after doubling, or the maximum amount able to be doubled is 8GB, for 16GB after doubling?

Same question for hard drive. 500GB base doubled for 1TB max, or maximum 1TB to be doubled, for 2TB total?

If you bought 4GB we will double it to 8GB. If you bought 6GB, it will only be 8GB total. If you bought 8GB, then it will remain the same of 8GB.

If you got a 500GB hd, it would be upgraded to 1TB. If you got 1TB hd it would remain the same and would not be upgraded.
