View Full Version : "level 3 admin" question?
mustafa_fareed 06-21-2009, 09:57 PM I am starting a new GSP and i was wondering how much should i pay to the "level 3 admin" which has great knowledge about game servers and is customer support, keep in mind he is probably the only one in the country with that much game server knowledge.
How much shall i pay him per month?
Thanks in advance
Srv24x7 06-22-2009, 09:58 AM Which country level-3 admin you are talking about ?
SkyNetHosting 06-22-2009, 11:01 AM For a remote L-3 admin, if India you should be looking at something around $300-1500 and for USA should be around $750-5000.
ServerManagement 06-22-2009, 01:40 PM It all depends how many hours he will be working, and what his duties will be, and where he is located.
But if he is the most knowledgeable in your entire country then he should be worth a lot.
SkyNetHosting 06-22-2009, 01:47 PM Actually I missed this part "most knowledgeable in your entire country" in that cease he could be priceless :D
mustafa_fareed 06-22-2009, 06:14 PM sorry i didnt mention that the country is egypt and there are no game server hosting companies. His job will be working from his home giving customer support and setting up everything related to game servers...so how much do u think he should take now?

Depending on how well your business is going you could always pay per ticket & game server setup.

well i want to give him a specific salary so that if the game servers sell well or not then nothing changes for him...please give me a range for monthly wage/salary :)
Flumps 06-23-2009, 03:32 AM sorry to go off topic...but that name mustafa rings a bell to me and I dont know why.... strange.
how much is the company earning roughly?
paying per ticket sounds like a good idea if ur just starting out. then when it gets big you could give him a salary.

Just take a look at the support and server administration companies listed in the WHT Wiki. Looking at these sites will give you an idea on the cost for a remote server admin.
SkyNetHosting 06-23-2009, 09:43 AM Depending on how well your business is going you could always pay per ticket & game server setup.A Sir Admin type person would hardly work per ticket basis
Plutost 06-23-2009, 10:04 AM Well I do not agree that Level 3 Admin will work for you.
If he does, then I assume that he would take 500$ Minimum per week or month.
So better, if you learn the Gaming Server Management if your own.
btw, Google is your friend and Google is free :D
You can always search for tutorials to help in Game Servers :D

I would agree with the above...
after all its not exactually hard to maintain a game server anyway. just dont overload the box its not the same as web hosting.
revhosting 06-23-2009, 05:34 PM Imao the only thing you can do is trying with this company
http://www.gameadminpanel.com/
They will provide you TCAdmin panel, game files, game config, update, patch, mods, map pack, installation on your server, game key. You only have to provide them one dedicated server with win server 2003 or 2008 but they will not provide support for your customers.
mustafa_fareed 06-23-2009, 09:16 PM @ revhosting
will they use the dedicated server for their personal use or to put the game server files on?
When they put the game server files on the server can copy all the server files and not need licence for them again ill get one from TCAdmin?
Thanks in advance!

For most game servers you do not need a license to install or operate them.
revhosting 06-23-2009, 10:20 PM You buy TCAdmin license from them (they're TCAdmin reseller). Ofc the monthly lease is higher because they also provide you complete support, not only TCAdmin. About game file they will give you the access to one of thear File-Servers (Dallas TX, San Jose CA, New York NY). When you create a gameserver your TCAdmin will get game files and configuration from the File-Server.
Note: TCAdmin can automatically store imported data on the HD in this way you don't need to download the same game files from the File-Server everytime you create the same service.
Edit: Btw i suggest you to provide only the gameservers you are familiar. For example if you know nothing about Swat4 title and you host it for a client just because you have File-Server, you will not able to support your customers when they need help.
XFactorServers 08-22-2009, 01:52 AM Unless you have investors you won't be able to pay a "proper" level 3 admin full time salary.
If I read correctly the OP stated he was in Egypt? (Correct me if I am wrong). US based servers would be usless in this case.

sounds like self promotion to me.
he / she can do more then go with that company....
if he / she gets tcadmin then he / she will need a windows OS.
but this thread is not about game control panels.
can I ask, why egypt?

Also, you need to provide $30.00 for the master server & $17 for any remote servers you may have. I have been a customer with these guys for 8 months, great support and constant game server file updates.
Defcon|Rich 10-08-2009, 03:33 PM You buy TCAdmin license from them (they're TCAdmin reseller).
The only companies endorsed by tcadmin would be found at the link below.

www.artofwarcentral.com They are a great place to help with game servers. They will sell you the game servers and give you the support you need for TCAdmin.
