why is this the wrong forum Pavel? Maybe Nick_PP is looking for recommendations from people using a similar server config to what he lists rather than being flooded with hosts shouting their wares at him.

In his place this is the forum I'd post in.

Be nice to the new guy.. Welcome to WHT Nick!

Your post is fine here as your not asking for people to quote you a price. You were asking for suggestions. However, in the future, you should post requsts in the Web Hosting Requsts form. I understand how asking about a dedicated server could easily pop into this thread because there isn't one labled "Dedicated Server Requests".

Don't worry about it though, it's not a big deal and you can edit/delete or ask a mod to remove your post.

Good luck with your search and future WHT life..

Welcome Nick,

RackShack.net has been known for good service, they are affordable and have good support.

UnitedColo.com has been improving from what I've read. I recommend you do a search on them to make sure they are what you are looking for.

I've been using FDCservers.net

I have a fairly good server. 100/month + 150/setup ... I upgraded the ram. My site eats over 1500gb every month and for 100 I couldn't be happier. Speeds are great. Support is great. Go with them.

Try www.jtlnet.com

Not so great on the bandwidth (30Gb, pay a little more get a little more kinda deal) but I think their packages have most of the specs your looking for. Costs starting around $100.

I have right now three servers network. I am hosting my linus servers at rackshack and windows servers at fastservers. Both of them are quite a big networks with good datacentres. Both of them are cheap and provide room to grow. So check out both of them. You may find many cheap hosts, but these are quality hosts with 24x7 support.

When I started searching for a hosting company, I liked at first sight Rackshack. But in this forum I read very bad stories about their support.

I will try your suggestions. Thanks to all.

Nick:

Welcome to WebHostingTalk! It's alright about where you posted this thread. Don't let the others scare you. :P I personally think it's in the right forum since you are asking for people (not hosts) to help you find a provider.

Could you provide us some more details? Details such as if it needs to be managed or not, level of support (ie how much they will do for you and not charge for it), server location (if any?), and reason for all the bandwidth.

A lot of providers who offer 300 gigabytes or more put restrictions on what type of stuff you can host.

If you can give us some more details, then I'm sure all of us would be more than happy to make recommendations.

Thanks and have a good day.

We are a software company. We have several sites with intense use of MySQL and PHP (Search Engine, Forums) and files for download. In example see www.fileavenue.net (http://www.fileavenue.net).

Thanks

i'm sure these dl's eat up a lot of bandwidth ...
you should look out for a machine which will do the MySQL and Website serving, and maybe a separate one just for fileserving, i.e. a 10mbit unltd. Deal ...

Fileavenue links the downloads offsites, so it won't be much bw. But if I guess correctly the bots/spiders will. If you need uptime, I guess rackshack will be slightly ahead.
