Hi,
I am an asp.net developer and want to host my blog. Which hosting provider will be ideal for asp.net blog? I have also seen that some of hosting providers provide blog hosting for blogengin.net or dasblog, should I go for them or should I go for the blog engine that I have built my self?
thanks in advance,
ashish

I've used CrystalTech in the past (it was 4 or 5 years ago) and they were fantastic while I was with them.

You just need to find out a windows server provider. Most windows server supports ASP.NET.

As you have already noticed, there are various ASP.NET blog engines available like BlogEngine.Net, DasBlog and they are actively upgraded and developed. If these applications does not satisfy your requirements, you can consider going for your own blog application. Furthermore, most Windows hosts will be able to satisfy your requirements. What is your budget for this?

Hello,
I have used Wordpress on Windows server, and I have not any problems. So it depends on your time and purpose if you prefer to code your own blog engine. Most of the ASP.NET hosting companies support Wordpress and other popular blog engines.

Hi
Your new host will likely support any blog if its .net on windows, some hosts will give you an application installer too which will give you blogs you can install instantly.
What is your budget for your hosting?

I think you have to decide first if you want to use one of those third party blog applications (i.e. BlogEngine, Dasblog, etc) or if you really want to use your custom built blog? Personally, I would rather use a third party blog, as I think its much easier.
If you want to use one of those third party blog applications, then most ASP.NET hosts would meet your requirements.
If you want to use your own custom-built blog solution, then you should contact the hosts that you are interested in and explain to them the requirements for your custom solution and ask them if they meet your requirements.
It's always best to contact the host and ask them questions. That way you will get answers directly from the host(s) you are looking at and you get to test their response time.

Blogengine is good, am using it for my blog, almost 3 years now (on XML) with more than 700 posts excluding pages. no issues till now.
Need a windows hosting supporting .net framework 2 and should have write permission thats all.
No comments on Hosting companies since i dont have enough knowledge on them :)
