I purchased a one-month package from a web host . Now it is near the end of the month. If I don't go to his website to purchase for the next one-month package, can he charge me automactially?

You should be on a recurring type payment where your credit card is automatically charged each month. Why don't you ask them? :)

I wonder whether they keep customers' credit card information.

By the way, how do you guys do?

We outsource that componant to http://Paysystems.com. We don't keep or have access to our clients credit card numbers etc...:)

The rumor mill has it that PaySystems had major issues last/this week in regards to re-occurring charges and just plain credit card authorizations.

more than a rumor :) It's proved an interesting few days. It seems to be solved now though and all charges have been accounted for. I'll probably still be losing hair for a few days but the worst seems behind them.

on topic:
It's a pretty safe bet your host will automatically charge you again for the next month. It would be very difficult to have customers 'sign up' each month. Dropping an e-mail there way would be the best idea though to make sure you know what's going to happen.

Most web hosts using recurring billing cycles. Usually there is a note on the signup page, etc that mentions this but you should call to confirm or check their terms of service.

Depends on what their policy is. Most hosts will bill you monthly until you tell them to cancel the account.
