View Full Version : Forasse (HyperVM replacement) ready to beta test today!
forasse 06-11-2009, 03:11 AM Forasse (HyperVM replacement) in Beta NOW!
Forasse is a web app in development for the past 5 months. This is not an app that was developed last weekend to replace HyperVM, it is a solid application currently in beta. It works very much in the same way as HyperVM with regards to a master/slave system with the exception no VPS accounts can be created in the Master Server.
All of the OpenVZ slave system has been completed, and tested.
Client Features:
- Start/Stop Reboot VPS
- View Bandwidth Usage Graphs
- Change Root password
- View QoS (All OpenVZ bean counters)
- Edit client profile
Admin Features:
- List Clients
- Add new Clients
- Create VPS accounts
- Cancel/Destroy VPS Accounts
- Create products/services (Custom plans with Guaranteed memory, Burst, HDD, etc)
- Add/Remove Slave servers
- Create/Edit IP Pools available to slave servers
- Template management
Notes:
The entire client and admin pages are fully customizable and using Smarty Templates. For screen shots of the default template you may visit: http://www.forasse.com/screenshots/
While we are beta testing the master server will be setup on a VPS controlled by us so we can provision updates on the fly. If you would like to use this system please contact me via PM. I'd like to get only a handful of beta testers who are looking for a HyperVM replacement for their clients and would like to beta test Forasse at the same time. This could be a mutually benefiting project.
Please PM me if interested.

forasse 06-14-2009, 05:43 AM Forasse will be free for at least the next 6 months while we make major improvements. Please sign up at our forums located at http://forums.forasse.com for support.

Forasse allows you to import VEs already provisioned in case they were created with HyperVM, or manually.
If you have any questions, feedback, or suggestions, please PM me, or post on our forums.
buyersheaven 06-14-2009, 05:37 PM Hi,
Looks promising and Aldo has been very helpful with a few issues I had earlier today. I'm sure this will be developed over the coming weeks and months.
RaulGdS 06-15-2009, 11:38 AM Does it support imports of xen vps created with hypervm?
wb-Jay 06-15-2009, 11:44 AM As per their forums it seems that Forasse only supports OpenVZ at the moment
Everyday 06-15-2009, 03:15 PM Let us know when it also supports Xen and Windows guests.
Hello there iam interested pm me want test it
iWF-Jacob 06-18-2009, 10:04 PM Just a quick question,
So this is just a WHMCS addon?
persianwhois 06-19-2009, 07:27 AM i have two hypervm server.
do you have any idea for convert hypervm to your software?
buyersheaven 06-19-2009, 05:25 PM Hi,
This has the HyperVM import function built in. You just need to install the software for the control panel on a server or VPS, Add one or more slave nodes and then you'll be able to import your HyperVM VPS.
Originall it would create a new account for every VPS imported. I asked for the ability to change the VPS owner as many of my clients have more than one VPS. This functionality was added within 24 hours of the request and I can confirm that it works.

No this isn't a WHMCS addon but uses same sort of template solution.
Eventually I know they want to produce a WHMCS plug-in but that may take some time.

Thank you so much.
Is it need to reformat current hypervm machine?
Also, how much for your product?
buyersheaven 06-20-2009, 06:05 AM Hi,
It not not my product. I'm just one of their users. I recommend you install the forasse master control panel on a new VPS.
Having done that you can install their slave software on your HyperVM node as it is. You configure the slave and then login to the Forasse master control panel and add the slave(s)
You can then import your HyperVM VPSs.
forasse 06-21-2009, 01:49 AM Thank you so much.

We are providing the product free of charge for the next 6-12 months. Once the product reaches version 2.0, and we feel comfortable it will be priced in-line with HyperVM's old pricing between .25 to .50 cents per VPS. We may offer an unlimited version per server license also.
I suggest you install the Master Forasse panel on a VPS so you don't have to reformat the HyperVM control panel.
persianwhois 06-21-2009, 01:53 AM Do you have any idea for convert current hypervm machines to your product? (Without downtime and reformat os)
forasse 06-21-2009, 01:55 AM Forasse has an import tool that allows you to import all OpenVZ VEs into the database w/out any downtime.
Michael-DAS 06-21-2009, 02:54 AM We'd be interested in giving Forasse a test drive, can you send me more information? Shoot me a PM or e-mail me @

hertzwebsolutions 08-20-2009, 05:39 PM Sadly this appears to have disappeared off the face of the earth, a real shame.
not quite disappeared, if you watch their website it is *very* slowly being added to. However any kind of support / questions / problems will go unanswered

Not much of a contender as a hypervm replacement if they ignore those using it... Ah well.
its not much good unless as a reboot portal in its current state anyway.

Aye, agreed. It had a lot of promise to start with, that's the frustrating part.
Indeed we tried to contact them a couple times, and would have been willing to invest funds into it to bring it up to a good standard (if agreed etc etc) however we have moved to a different CP and are weighing up if its worth developing our own.

Same here! I'd say give it another 3 months, assess the situation with regards to panels on the market again and decide then whether a custom/in-house panel is the way to go. At the moment there are some nice solutions coming up, whether any of them are in it for the long haul really does remain to be seen though, it will be interesting to see how they develop.
unfortunately we cant do that for our clients, 3 months is a long time! We lease a panel that we like - hopefully we can input and progress it to our needs. If not then we will need to look to our own, which personally I DONT look forward to!
