I wanted to create some subdomains, and used cpanel.

It didn't work, and I didn't know where the problem was. I created the subdnomans, and tried to use them, but nothing! So, I PMd Zain at InfoDoma, and we sent some PMs back and forth trying to pinpoint the problem. It was my firts attempt at creating subdomains, and my explanations might have been a little confusing, but finally we found the cause. I had put up redirections to my subdomains, and I shouldn't have done that. A problem I didn't know about. It seemed logical to create the subdomain and then point it to the proper folder. I didn't know the pointing was automatic if the folder already exist.

So... a big thank you to Zain and InfoDoma! Great support!:D

Man, that's normal, not worth praising.
Don't open a web hosting company if you can't support your customers

I was happy! Can't I write something nice about my host? Some people just write something standard that doesn't mean a thing to those who search here for hosts. Why is only bad things allowed? We have all heard about refunds and unlimited and bad support. No one complains about that, saying that it's normal.

Maybe, but I have it like that for now.

I like them, I don't work for the, I'm just a customer spreading the word. If that makes me a bad person, so be it. They are my first payed host. I can't write about any other hosts, because I only host with them. I stated fact, not fiction. If I don't like them I'd post that as well. I know some people here thinks that just because a customer posts something about a host, and has something on their site about them, they are trying to lure potential customers into their net. I'm thinking about all those people out there who's never heard about WHT (there is a link for that as well) and might be looking for something else than yahoo or geocities and so on. There is a world outside WHT.

This is the first time I really had anything to say along the way of good hosts. If I wanted to I could jump into any thread and write something. I actually don't put a link to their site in my threads anymore. No Spam! If someone visits my site, it's up to them. No banner or big link on the front page on my site, just a link with out name in the menu. I can change the content of that page at any time.

Not sure if I ever helped him b4
I said that just because I think as a host we're responsible for any problems that our customers have and it's our duty to help them until their problems are fixed. That's why I consider his experience with his host is normal not so great, many many hosts can do the same or better. However, it does not mean his host is not great.

Nice to see a non spam post saying something good!
All you spamming hosts(will not say who) take notes.
Thank-you Reptilian Feline, this is the type of report that helps people.

What's wrong with that exactly? Some people are proud to be hosted by a particular company and show it. Aot of our members do it and of course, we encourage it. :)

NetworksData, I understand you, but... with all the bad posts about hosts that use faul language, never responds to e-mails, and so on, you have to balance it a little. You're right about the problem being "normal" in severity, but, when I first noticed it, I thought it was something with the server, not a misstake I had made. :)

And... I'm not a "he"... :)

That's OK Eric. We all make misstakes like that. I think it has something to do with the language in general: person you don't know = he. I read somewhere that the apropriate word to use when the sex isn't specified is "they". :)

UH-Matt, I think all threads about hosts, good or bad, turn into funny ones. I don't know if that's a good thing or not... anyway... I will keep on balancing the bad with some good.:)

Yeah, next time when support will help you set up images that don't come up on your page because you forgot to put .jpg in the end let us know too...

And another thing - congrats on your first pay host.

pcman, it's one thing to know how to write html and to save properly and to make sure the path is correct, subdomaining is a whole new ballgame. Not every webdesigner have played around with their own webservers with dns and domains and subdomains. Cpanel don't have a lot of info when creating things, not like webmin.

Is it possible to add more info in cpanel? Make it more logical?
