To open a paypal business account in the UK, do you have to be a registered company? Also, the details such as business address, do they appear on payments? As we are a ecommerce business so do not have a business address, so I would put my (owners) address.

I assume your basicaly a 'sole trader', thats fine, but any business needs an
official address for the IR to contact you, for an individual, that would be your home address, for a limited co. it would be the 'registered office' address.
PayPal should be able to answer any queries.

If you are participating in business activities online, you need to be registered as self employed.
Many people overlook it, but they shouldn't.
Even if you don't expect to earn over £4,000 p/a or the comparative rate in the US before particular taxes need paying, you still need to be registered.

It will not show your address anywhere, unless when you buy something and that merchant requires a shipping address that is the only time someone else will see your address.

I always like an address when dealing with Any Business,
no address, and I'll likely not trade.

As I don't want everyone having my house address.Legally, under The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, you need to have your address on your website anyway, a PO Box will do.
