Final Call For Nominations

Okay....we'll try this again ;)

For the newbies: Everyone month, I like to start a thread where everyone can nominate a WHT member that they feel deserves to be recognized as Member Of The Month (MOTM). The 5 members with the highest number of nominations are then placed into the final voting thread, and the member with the highest number of votes receives the month's prize.

Basic Rules:

1) The nominee must have at least 100 posts.
2) The nominee must have been registered BEFORE the award month(that means for October, they must have been registered in September or before).
3) The nominee must have been active during the award month (last post date must be October 1st or later)
4) You can not nominate yourself
5) You may only nominate 1 other member
6) Mods aren't eligible (everyone else, including hosts are)

Right now we have $33 to spend on the prize. If you have any suggestions on what the prize for October should be, please PM me. If you would like to donate to the MOTM fund, send it via paypal at akashd84@hotmail.com. Remember, the MOTM fund is intended to last beyond this month ;)

When you post your nominations, please try to include a link to their profile ;)

And remember: Play Nice....I dont want to have to get this one deleted.

SWR and I tied for September. Which reminds me, using Dennis' suggestion, in the event of a tie for the FINAL vote, no prize will be awarded :)

I am not 100% positive about the spelling. But I nominate Ashaik?, Something along those lines, all of his posts are professional, he is respectfull, and has alot of good words to share.

the spelling of that has always been an issue. :) Having lived with it as a business name/nick for 5 or so years I feel for Akash having almost the same on his birth certificate :D

Thanks vigor by the way ;)

Oh, I nominate Samuel.

I'm going with Susanna as well, as she is a lively and worthwhile contributor to a few forums...and WHT is no exception.

that was from another thread where people (or more to the point ..person) said that they would go for someone who hadn't been nominated before ..

so, any betting person would call that an outsider

is there a problem ?

Darth
11-05-2002, 07:52 AM
Nope, I was just wondering what you were on about :)

susannad
11-05-2002, 07:54 AM

That was harsh......

Remember guys (and girls :D ), these are nominations only, so just because susan has a lot of nominations doesn't mean she'll win. If you know of other people that deserve to be in the final voting, post now; this thread will be closed on Friday (voting starts on sunday)

I nominate FHDave. Mainly because he kicks ass, secondly, it seems to be the same mob nominated constantly every month, or every other month, and thirdly, there is no third.

Hey Beau, what an honour :D Is that because of my being a persistent used-car salesman? ;)

I would like to nominate you too... Beau (Haze)! Reasons:
1. Beau is a very nice and humble person, a competitor yet a friend
2. Beau nominated me, so I will feel bad if I nominate somebody else :D
3. And everybody knows that neither you nor me will win MOTM, so what the heck :)

Woah...almost forgot to bump this myself...this thread will be closed tomorrow night so if you know of anyone else that deserves to be in the final voting thread, for if you want to second (or third, fourth, fifth, etc) a nomination, post now :D

Make that a third one for FHDAVE

TheDoctor
11-08-2002, 01:28 AM
KimKia. What I was trying to say, in my badly used english was.

Not many people know me on this forum, mostly because I haven't been very active, something I intend to remedy. However on the other hand everybody that does know me, knows full well how big a stirrer I can be. Therefore I would will that catagory hands down.

Now I'm sure thats as clear as mud ...

Nope, just cause you get X number of people to sign your petition (ie, nominate you) doens't mean those same people will vote ;)

but she's got a good chance....im gonna have a hell of a time finding a prize that will ship cheap to the land down under...

NexDog
11-08-2002, 06:47 AM
Akash, if the prizes need to be shipped to AU winners perhaps I could help you out. We could get something over here and deposit the prize fund in HN's PayPal account etc....

TheDoctor
11-08-2002, 08:45 AM
Nexdog could you please refer to Australian as Australian or Aussie or some such term ... Au sounds really awful ... I personally don't like myself or other Aussie being referred to as AU. we were taugh as kids that saying ... ay you .. AU was rude.

Reptilian Feline

Maybe the prize could be something you can download or access over the net, like a subscription to a clipart gallery or something. That way there is no need to ship it.

How 'bout AU == aurum == gold

quite a compliment I'd think :D

NexDog
11-08-2002, 11:23 AM
AU is just short, hence I use it. No disrespect intended. I don't see the the need to sing Rule Britannia and I'm not patriotic in the the slightest. Patriotism stinks. I am a citizen of the world as we all are. TheDoctor is just goading me - as boringly usual.
