Plagiarism refers to the exact copy pasting of somebody else’s writing and claiming it to be one’s own. Plagiarism can be of various types. It can be deliberate or as innocent as forgetting to refer to the source. No matter what your plagiarism type is, you have to face the same bad consequences.
So, it is always better to avoid plagiarism. Getting idea from somewhere and expressing it in your own words is the best way to avoid plagiarism.

The same applies for images. I do a lot of the photography for my site and I've seen my picutres a few times on other websites. It makes my blood boil... and it's illegal.

Plagiarism can actually be considered a crime because you are stealing someone else's idea and claiming it as your own.

Unless I'm mistaken, doing that is still plagiarism since you're taking their idea without giving them proper credit.
Last time I checked just shuffling the words about doesn't suddenly make it okay.
You can gain inspiration from other content/ideas, and still be original. I don't think they were advocating rearranging the words of an existing article, but writing their own thoughts on <whatever>. ;)

You can only use 10% of the original post if I'm right

Why should one use 10% if it is not his work? Provide 100% unique content to your readers.

Online its important to realise that images etc do not all come from the original source. So before you get too upset, consider that the person may have had no idea it was copyrighted, or got it from a site that offered if for their use. An image especially could have been copied from one website to another one hundred times, and any number of those people could say "yeah its mine but you can use it".

Copyright violation is a lot more intense when it comes to graphics. Not to mention, images are stolen constantly. Originality is a good tool to have in your arsenal, but so many people overlook this and choose the easiest way out.
