I was wondering if there was a catch to the near 50% off on the software they are providing? I currently do not provide live support with our company, however I'd like to very soon.

I was wondering if anyone has purchased this software at $49 instead of $85? Do you get the exact script (working I may add)

Reviews thoughts, suggestions & feedback are welcome!

Tiffany,

PHPLiveSupport isn't something I see very often here on WHT. I usually see...

LivePerson
ProvideSupport
Kayako

I have no experience with PHPLiveSupport, however was simply trying to make you aware of the alternatives :)

I have looked at all of my options, and so far, the one I have liked the best (layout wise [user level], complexity, and features) was PHPLiveSupport - plus it has many great reviews while searching.

Purchase of the latest stable 3.3 is available with a significant price cut ($49.95), but support for 3.3 by email or phone will be very limited and you are purchasing the 3.3 "As Is". For documentation please visit here. When purchasing the discounted 3.3, you do understand that support for 3.3 will be limited. PHP Live! 3.3 and WinApp 3.0 are the latest stable versions.

This is from the phplivesupport website. You would have a hard time if your were to find a bug or have trouble with the script. Perhaps something to think about?? Sounds like a good deal besides this though...

Thank you very much. I will indeed have to look over this again. Right now, I'm leaning towards LivePerson, which I heard is very, very good, but for a price that may be worth it.

There's free live support scripts out there, LiveZilla for example. Just because they're free doesn't mean they're bad ;)

I heard you need windows to run this? My staff and I all run on Mac's here :)

The have a windows add-on, but the default system is completely web-based, so it doesn't matter if you're a linux, a mac, or (unfortunately) a pc.

Thanks, but I'd still rather go paid. I read on some sites that they may be placing advertisements on there.

After talking about it with my co-workers and staff, I am going to go ahead and buy it. If something doesn't work or there truly are bugs, well then I wasted $50

If this does happen though, I will move on to LivePerson since that too is a very nice live chat program.

We use LiveSupport and it is good for the price, although they are missing some features such as automatic visitor chat initiation. But it is stable and has worked well for us.

Ah, yes. ProvideSupport. Sorry. :)

Also, now that you mention PHPLiveSupport, I would skip it. We used to have it back in the day and support for it was very bad after a while. The owner (Jennifer I think) disappeared for periods of time and no updates/patches came out. That was a number of years ago. We also had problems with security and had to take it offline due to that as well.

So, if you want a paid solution, I'd recommend getting ProvideSupport.

Downloaded, installed, and needed help with a little issue that was resolved with one email. It's working great, with SSL installed, and so far no problems after installing. Looking forward to purchase V4.0 when it's launched.
