View Full Version : Where to move from eNom?

Hi everybody,

I'm an Internet hobbyist and I've been an eNom reseller under some other reseller for like 5 years, but I use it for personal registrations, so I have like 10 .com/.net/.us domains. I used to have an $8.95 account but suddenly my reseller dramatically raised the price and does not respond to any inquiries. eNom doesn't care about such small customers either.

I definitively want to migrate away. So, what are my options? I don't need too much, just:

1) Reliable company (like at least 5-7 years in business)
2) Reliable custom DNS for every domain
3) Get it cheap

So far I'm inclined towards GoDaddy. They've been there for ages and the pricing is OK, CONSIDERING the discounts, but how long it will last? I really don't want to pay more than I paid to eNom. I'd like to get a fair price w/o cosntant ups and downs.

Also, is there a way to recover my credits on eNom other than spend it now on domain renewals?

Thanks.

I would suggest getting another eNom account as we have used them for many years now and they are the best compared to many other companies.

With regards to your credits, sorry to say you will need to spend them through eNom as you can not transfer them to the bank account.

There are many companies on WHT which can offer you a free eNom account, also you can 'PUSH' your eNom domain names to another eNom account for free.

In fact you are right that this solution will save me a lot of hassle. I've already tried pushing the domains around and it's so much more quicker and easier than the transfer to another registrar.

But then another problem arises: who can guarantee that after a few months after pushing my domains and topping-up the account I won't have to revive this thread again :( ?

Look for a reputable and reliable reseller/provider. The companies who develope and distribute ClientExec and WHMCS both provide $8.95 Enom domain reseller accounts.

Yes, sure, but I don't need anything like ClientExec for personal use...

Contact Chris at Netearth One. A good vendor!

There's a few I know of.. name.com, moniker.com, both seem to get good reviews here.

I would recommend taking a look at NetEarthOne and or ResellerClub. Chris at NE1 is a good guy and has great prices. :)

Name.com has excellent service and free privacy if you want it. Their checkout and name resolution is fast too.

I would say, go with Namecheap.com though they are reseller of enom but they provide free privacy protection and free dns service.

If you like enom then find another enom ETP and get a free $8.95 reseller account.

@Wajdan - Namecheap, although totally excellent, does not provide WHOIS protection for free. It's $2.88/year.

If you don't need a reseller account, I'd suggest Namecheap. If you'd like a reseller account, Netearth One is very good (free WHOIS protection, though you have to pay for e-mail/URL forwarding).

If you're looking for the absolute cheapest without a reseller account, you could register your domains and 1and1.com and then point them to Namecheap's free DNS hosting service.

I'd recommend sticking with eNom. In my opinion, they are the best, if you are using their API or not. This control panel is simple. Their pricing is fair, and their support is there when I need them to be. Never had a problem with eNom.

Agreed.

We moved from ResellerClub to Enom. We simply found the "LogicBoxes" to be difficult to use and integrate. Enom's system and control panel is so much more straight forward. Their pricing is better too.

if you aren't looking to resell domains go to name.com who are excellent from pricing to customer service and their DNS refreshes almost instantly so when you do that nameserver change you don't have to wait long.

if you are looking to resell domains either get a separate account with eNom or you can look at Directi who aren't bad either.

Yes, I also recommend finding another enom reseller and then simply pushing your domains to your new account.

Be sure to find someone with a good reputation and whom you trust. :)

Namecheap and Netearth One have been getting good reviews all over the place, and I can personally vouch for both of them as well. I'm not as up to date on this kind of thing, but if they provide what you need then definitely check them out.
