When I go to shut down the system to power down it comes right back on, and when it tries to go into sleep mode, it just comes right back on as quick as trying to power down. Any particular reason why?

Sounds like a power supply problem! If you have an extra Power supply, try swapping it out.

hmmmmm thats a weird problem.

dont get me wrong here, and dont think im stupid when i say this, but it could actually be a motherboard problem.

the reason why is because the on/off switch on you system case doesn't go to your power supply. it goes to your motherboard

the motherboard has constant, and non constant power. When the power button on the front of your case is pressed, the constant power going to the motherboard is used for the motherboard to turn on the power supply. when it does thats when the power supply becomes fully active.

its sounds like the motherboard is having problems keeping the power supply off.

does, as soon as you plug in the computer, it switch on??? or do you have to switch it on using the switch on the case???

that would help.

Nope, I have to push the button to power on and hold the button off to power the system off. I been having all kinds of problems ever since I put in a Nvidia video card GeForce 4MX 64meg. my old card doesnt work no more so i had to get another one. Ever since then I been having all sorts of hardware issues

I don't think this is related to the video card.

Look in your bios. More and more of the newer BIOSes have an option to select how the power button will work, for example if it's going to be an instant off button or (usually 4 seconds)delayed action.

On these motherboards, you can also usually select if you want the power to be on or off by default (useful for servers).

So it is a motherboard issue, IMHO, but not a problem.
