Subject: Terry, use MyDomain to reduce spam

Dear Terry,

One of the most common questions we get is how to stop getting so much spam! Aside from not giving out your email address and never, ever replying to spam (that just tells them the address is really checked by a human) there are some things you can do.

Interesting... I'm sure I don't remember signing up for mydomain.com to send me mail.

Now even the spammers are telling us they can combat spam. It's not really a good marketing technique

You must have signed up with them or NameZero.com - I got the exact same thing, but Terry was replaced with the name in my MyDomain.com profile.

They don't spam. You signed up for sure.. they tell you explicitly they will send you emails. Their policy is: accept it or don't sign-up

Mydomain uses namesdirect.com as their domain register so maybe you've used them? I've used mydomain for over 2 years and they offer great DNS management for free but you have to receive their newsletter. I don't beleive they are spammers.

I've never used any services of mydomain.com or its subsidaries.

I've been getting a lot of spam recently and it's starting to annoy me bit time. I wish spammers would just give up and realise that we (I at least) won't buy anything from a spammer.

Besides if a spammer was offering me widgets and I thought "That reminds me to go and buy a new widget" i'll go and buy it from a competitor, not from them. I wish they would get the point. It's really annoying and just loses them business.

I've made a serious effort over the years to do exactly the same thing. If they make the choice to send me their junk then I make the choice to shop elsewhere.

It's one thing to get spam about something you do or buy, but to get those septic tank mails, and the "as seen on TV, this really works" pyramide sceme, is sooo anying. They come from a wide variety of senders, and in bulk.:(

Do you know on which email address you get this "spam"? I just don't believe it if you say you never signed up with them. I've been using MyDomain from the start and I trust them 100%. Maybe you tried them once and never used them again? Why don't you do a 'forgot my password' with your email address, I'm sure there is a way to cancel your account with them.

I just got the email too and the guy is actuallly making a few very good suggestions. At least they are trying to do something about the spam domain owners get. These mails are a small price to pay for their terrific free service

(and no, i'm in no way related to them :D just a happy customer)
