All my sites are down and they arn't even on the same server as the edgehost.com site. This means they have multiple servers down. This doesnt look good.

Although on the whole I am happy with Edgehost... (not about this downtime)... I knew to keep my mouth shut because I would jinx myself. I just knew that the second I posted everything is going well for me (well even if I just thought it), something like this would happen.

But yeah.. even the AMD3 server, which has been pretty stable the past month, is down.

Yup, im on AMD3. This sucks because no one comes on AIM for tech support untill around 11:00 Pacific time. Another 2 hours from now. Anyone write down their 800 number?

It might end up costing them money too Ryan, no customers are happy with downtime and with Edgehost's recent troubles, there have been a lot of it.

So be sure they are working on it as fast as they can. :)

Alec usually comes to these posts though so hopefully he'll be able to tell us something soon. :\

I do know that when I left Edgehost, it was b.c the downtime, most noteably one such period that laster almost 17 hours, and I didn't even know what was going on until like 14 hours in when finally I got an im from kelsey AND a phone call from Alec.

It was when, like now, edgehost.com itself was down along with all the other edgehost sites. :(

But it was a router problem that was supposed to be fixed. ::shrug::

Hello,

I am very very sorry about what happened and I just got the information about what happened today.

The Edge Host network was due to a power failure in part of the eXchange Colo NOC. Yes, there are backup generators and they didn't work.... I am going to find out what happened and why it took such a long period of time to fix. I will relay that information to all customers when it becomes available.

AMD3 was taken offline due to a "billing error" with Server Host/Dragon Networks; which has now been resolved.

Again I am very sorry, and things like this will not happen again. This is the end of the line for bad luck with Edge Host ;)

Thanks,
Edge Host

P.S. Yes, the power failure sounds cheesy but it is true :(

That was what Kelsey said about the router thing. :( So...

You know, people should maybe like update their backups with these things. When your routers went bad, so did the backup ones, and now the power loss and the backup generators go bad. If you pay for services from these people you should be demanding they get their stuff together. There's no need your business should suffer from it.

Again, good luck with everything Alec! :)
