View Full Version : Cari.net - Third outage in a week.

Hello. I waited for the third issue to post this. www.cari.net seems to keep people in the dark about their networking and routing. It has had a third outage now in under a week. These outages have all lasted over 1 1/2 hours. The current one is working on three hours. They keep saying it is Verio. Shouldn't their redundancy to multiple providers alliviate this?

Sorry to rant, as I usually just bite my lip, but this has royally upset me. Especially coming into to work on a Monday and getting slammed with customers who have now had a third outage.

Does anyone here have equipment there? What is your view on this unacceptable issue.

So move to a stable provider.

I used Cari.net aka Host2own.com
They were ok but what I didn't like was having to call them to tell them that their servers were down. If they are monitoring, they should know they are down. First they would deny, then they would say oh yeah, they will work on it. I wondered what they were really doing when they were supposed to be working. I figure watching ballgames on TV or something. Most of the server issues were on weekends so maybe it was the B team.

I have servers on the purecogent at carinet. Had our first downtime in the last 6 months last week for about 15min(yeah routing issue). Maybe you should move to the cogent only lol.

Hmm.. Move to a different provider if it's the third outtage or ask them to stick by their SLA/Uptime guarantees if they even have one.

Before purchasing a dedicated/colo plan from any provider, you should thorougly investigate their SLA and ask questions like;

What happens in the unlikely (or likely) event that the network goes down? Will I be credited? If so, how?

If you did the above and their simply not sticking to their guns, then fire :flamethr: them..

And get a new provider..

IMHO, I believe ranting on WHT is absolutely stupid and pointless. Who cares if your provider is down?

Now, that's not saying it's bad to write a review on a company, but if this is the case then that is what should be done. We can't fix your downtime problems.

It amazes me that no one reads threads entirely. This was the question:

Does anyone here have equipment there? What is your view on this unacceptable issue.

So I get this:

So move to a stable provider.

and now:

IMHO, I believe ranting on WHT is absolutely stupid and pointless. Who cares if your provider is down?

Great.

I am not looking for advice on how to choose a provider, and I am not here to up my post count. I simply wanted to see what other Cari.net users thought and to see if there were anyone out there that had any information on what the issue was at that time. Since this is a public forum and I would have assumed someone else has racks there, so I posted in it for replies.
