Also, just out of interest, how well can you do as a small time average reseller?

TheTech 11-04-2002, 12:33 PM hostcharge is no longer accepting new sign ups. I recommend phpManager and PaySystems.
flashhq 11-04-2002, 01:09 PM I'd be careful of PHP Manager. After paying them to set it up on my site and buying every damn offering they had it never got up and running...and when I gave up trying and asked for a refund they only gave back the license fee of forty bucks. That makes about fifty bucks they steal from you.
What gets me is that they are more motivated in stealing your money than they are in customer support.

It is clearly stated on the website that optional extras are non refundable and that $10 is deductable from the license fee.

Loticus is the creator (?) of phpmanager. He was quoting what someone said above. :)
(he's also the inventor of the lame password encoded zip file) whoops! Was that my out loud voice?
Sorry, loticus...just slipped out...:D
Locutus 11-06-2002, 11:26 PM Hi,
lame it may be, but there is a valid reason behind it (if you are a member, you probably know the reason why) which is nothing to do with protecting the files. Even if they were unprotected, unlicensed users still wouldn't be able to use the scripts.

Yes...I know they wouldn't be able to...I was just kidding around. Actually I am a member and I really don't know the reason. I do know I was plenty pissed that it was kind of difficult to find the pass though.
ikellen 11-06-2002, 11:50 PM What do people know about PaySystems? I am also looking for some sort of billing method.
Locutus 11-06-2002, 11:50 PM Hi,
its not difficult to find the pass - as long as you read the license ;)
Andrew 11-07-2002, 12:07 AM :) if you say so...lol
RH Robert 11-07-2002, 12:25 AM Just want to say, I purchased a phpmanager license from a member here, and had it running in less then 10 minutes on the site. The only problem I had was the whm module....had to browse the forums for the install location as there was no documentation it. But even that works...and it's now integrated into the 2checkout account... I, for one, am happy with it. Runs beautiful!
Locutus, please send endorsement checks to.....
flashhq 11-07-2002, 10:51 AM Hey, WHM was the only hangup I had too. Locutus sent me files and instructions only the instructions didn't jive with the files. When your told to go to line 54 and change xyz to 123 and you get to line 54 and see abc?! I had to throw in the towel.
The reply lightnin got in this forum is the same tone I was getting when trying to resolve my install debacle....and think about it....here is a internet merchant that wants to fight me over 54.00. Here at our hosting company we offer a 100% refund in the first thirty days plus 'amazing' tech support.
I think it is a personality issue. Locutus just has to be himself and that is who he is - testy little bugger. That isn't to say that phpmanager isn't a good program, I think it is a good program but I advise be prepared to mesh with a strong and unforgiving personality....and don't pay for installation unless you pay someone other than locutus. Check out the forums at phpmanager and you'll find others who can install it for you, or install it yourself if you've a mind and the time.

I currently use PaySystems, and switched to them from HostCharge.com. I am extremely pleased with the way they work and handle themselves. Given that do have problems, but not nearly as many as HostCharge did. I would definately recommend PaySystems.
