Jim_UK, phantasywork, mpope: This is not a nice discussion but the "auto-installer" offered by cpskins.com is an illegal Fantastico rip-off (as far as I know, it is no more offered because Williams doesn't like legal trouble): Original Fantastico code with some scripts added (as it is really easy to do). If you prefer original ideas, buy Fantastico. If you want to support illegal actions, buy cpskins' "auto-installer".

PS for people who have read Williams' postings about wanting to "clear this" and this being a "misunderstanding": The way to his mailbox (or back) seems to be hidden or full of really heavy stones. Or emails just find no way back in a very mysterious way ;)

One thing that would be really great that is not included in the regular Fantastico (which we bought) is the PerlDesk software. I would like to see this included soon....

I admit, I haven't searched the forums before for info on this (didn't think I had reason to) but I just have done and it provides interesting reading. I had no knowledge of the issues going on here at all.

One thing I'd love to see in Fantastico is an automated update facility ;) All the scripts install automatically but updates are a manual process.

Not a major issue, just a "it would be nice" thing :)

Auto-updates: I am working on this. I know it is a bit work to update, but update needs root access and it is not easy to implement. Will check if and how it is possible.

Wait for cpskins.com Alternative

In case you haven't heard, cpskins has developed a script that is cheaper, faster and more options to select from than the Fantastico script. Not to mention, it's programmed in a completely different language (perl instead of php) and has the option to UPGRADE current installations of installed scripts. OH, and did I mention that it automatically works on current skins (BUILT IN FUNCTIONALITY) unlike Fantastico where you have to provide a link or edit code yourself (host wise).

As for us, we will soon be fading out fantastico for this new cpskins version. Just thought we'd give our $0.02. :D

Erik, notwithstanding your announcement about a currently non-existent product, you obviously condone cpskins ripping their auto installer (i.e. stealing and modifying the code) from the original fantastico scripts.

Erik seems to be trying hard to advertize a competing product (which is yet non-existent and based on rumor) while degrading Fantastico at every turn in his post.

I don't know what you mean by "Advance theme". I know the "Advanced" which is original supplied by the CPanel creators and has nothing to do with my themes.

However, cpskins.com not only ripped off Fantastico, they were also too stupid to rip off "coolbreeze & co" in some clean way, for example by changing the css class names. These are class names I used since september 2001. How old exactly are the sim skins? In case they manage to change their stylesheet names soon, their customers may confirm the names currently in use.

Herewith I officially invite all cpskins.com customers who purchased the sim skins or the autoinstaller from cpskins.com to cancel the transaction (you can do it even months later, contact your credit card issuer). This was an illegal transaction, you bought stolen property and you owe cpskins.com nothing as cpskins.com was not the legal owner and was not entitled to transfer any license rights.

If cpskins.com believes that this is a slander, they are welcome to bring an action against me:

Kosmo, it is nice that you are posting this information. I think you will enjoy the perl version i have coming out. I did nothing wrong except using standard php code with the current one. Okay yes the ones you posted up there i owe you money for and I have told you to send me how much I owe you according to are agreement we had at one point. Do you remember that day, I sent you an email with the list and you said you would look at it and tell me the next day how much i have to give you. The next day came and i asked you again how much I owe you and still you didn't forward me an email. So i tried to clear this matter up. I moved on and developed my own system long time ago which isn't illegal. But now its time for V2 and it is coming out to the public soon. Once it is out you won't be able to slam my company anymore. ADDED: and on the point of sim skins, you make me laugh. Advanced theme looks like yours but my sim skins doesn't. Look at the sub pages they don't look anything alike, and the main page might be similar by chance but thats it. Bluetrix uses the exact same code and the same layout but fancy. And to tell you the truth BlueCP has pretty much the same structure. So i guess you think they are all illegal. Anyways Kosmo all i have waited for is that return email. Also I would like to thank Erik for his comments. He can make those comments because he has seen the new autoinstaller. Also everything he said is true. It will integrate into EVERY skin without doing a thing, even XSkin and all those. And yes it will have more scripts and be less money but that isn't important.

Anyways, I am looking forward to the email so this will stop and we all can move on to more important things.

P.S - I will post the Paypal transaction when this is done to show i do take care of things. All i have ever waiting for is a return email.

William, the fact remains that you stole the Fantastico code for commercial gain, you included it in your product as an added value (which would naturally help you sell more copies of the skin you were marketing) and promoted it as if it's yours.
