I am looking to find a merchant that can provide me with the following;

> Program or web-interface for credit card purchases WE will push thru, on our clients behalf (We keep our client's CC numbers and what-not and wish to push thru the billing on a certain date each month).

> Our business name appears on their credit statement.

> Bach file support.

> Available for signups.

The availablility would be good! hostcharge is out of something and wont allow signups.. so.. yah.

Thanks y'all.

i use paypal.

it accepts creditcard payments, and there is alot of ebay/paypal users who prefer only using this payment method.
they have web-based scripts and your name appears on there statement.

Meaning I will be pushing the payments for my clients, manually, on the last working day of each month.

umm i think that is ilegal unless u rent the creditcard hardware from the bank and have full authority to do such things.
you could still get a 2checkout account and do it, but if someone complained you would get in deap **** :-)

also, creditcard fraud is big on the internet.
if you submit false creditcard details you would take the rap which wouldnt be good..

You can get a merchant account from the bank for like AU$40/month + 3% tranasaction fee + 50c, I belive its perfectly ok to process cards by hand if sent over the internet you just need to tell your bank thats your intention. However I belive this would only process AUS currency which would not help much.

To get your name on the customers bill the only way I belive you can do it is throught a Merchant account.

People...

Sites such as hostcharge.com support this. It is not fraudulant. All it means is I would be basically doing what 2checkout does, ryza.

I know a few.. authorize.net, hostcharge.com, etc.. but that aint accepting signups atm.

ryza, I am not in the business of breaking the law - It is perfectly legal to handle someone's credit card without the help of someone such as 2checkout. You just need the facilities. Simply using my order form with customer info is not alowed, however, if you use the facilities which facilitates what I am wishing to do, it is perfectly legal.

Such facilities are sometimes called "Virtual Terminals".

oh ok, guess i look stupid then :)
sorry i dont know much about this stuff, but i was mostly concerned about what the real merchant would do once they found out u submitted a creditcard number that was just stolen from kids.com (example). not implying you would be the person who steals it, but because fraud is so high it is likely your customers may do something like this, fraud is so high some sites wont even accept creditcards from australia ;-), if you search this forum you may find similar problems.
if you rent the hardware from the bank yourself, then you are not as likely to get your merchant account frozen because u handle your own affairs and banks know about fraud, merchants like 2checkout/paypal are very harsh when it comes to this kind of things.
anyway, i hope you get your system working how u want to and find a good merchant to work with, you might also want to let them know exactly what u will be doing so they are aware of the situation incase any fraud occures..

Hence the reason, upon signing up, they ask about 1 million questions about you, your company.. what sort of dog you have, your girlfriends name, your neighbors name, etc. :stickout:

I may have exadurated there.. but you get my point

You can only submit and handle the credit card details if you have a merchant account. Places like 2checkout, hostcharge, paysystems etc are 3rd party processors you are not allowed to enter the customers credit card details only the customer can.

Authorize.net is only a payment gateway you still have to have a merchant account to use it.

You can get a merchant account at your bank but it will only process in AUD$ so you will have to do the conversion yourself. None of the banks in OZ are allowed at this time to do the conversion to USD, but that is supposed to change sometime this next year, then you will be able to do what you want with a local merchant account and still charge in USD$.

Can you please explain to me then why paysystems provides a virtual terminal to process cards myself?

Thanks

Paysystems just recently starting offering their IMA accounts (real merch. account). It used to be Revecom providing the listed IBA account (3rd party) and the paysystems site was your client front end.

Go to the above url and sign up. It will cost around $200 for everything.... and $30 a month. Stay with paypal or 2checkout if you make less than about 700 to 800 per month (this is the break even spot.. ) after 700 you make money due to the others fees. Plus this is better to use and you can do what you want... get the plugnpay account (plugnpay.com). I've been with these guys since April and it has been great! Getting everything hooked up was rocky but after that first 10 days.... solid.

I use http://www.esellerate.net/ for toll free number customers can call for products... my site looks bigger than it is...
