What's wrong with godaddy or enom? from my point of view they are reasonably good companies

There should be a good reason to change the registrar, unless you want to test every registrar in the world.

There is no legal age to get a domain, it's not like a car, you don't need a license to 'drive' domains ;-)

they were checking for fraud orders, accepting credit card payments online is risky, they just want to make sure the order is legit

about DragonADR, recommending your own site without clearly saying it's your own site seems like spam to me, i wouldn't trust a company that makes spam. Also alldomainregistrar.com is not a registrar, just a reseller

For end user NameCheap is friendly one.

They have live chat support also.

Second. My vote also goes towards NameCheap. As far as the age, I would say at least 13 and or if you can pay for it.

I wasn't aware of any legal age set by ICANN to registration of a domain name

NameCheap is defiantly great, GoDaddy is terrible. The service they provide is "fine", but their website is trash, and the the ordering process is full of bloatware. Top that off with a slow loading control panel, and you have yourself set for a terrible experience with GoDaddy :).

NameCheap or eNom are the two best options I firmly believe.

I never said there was a set age. :) I was saying I would expect you to be at least 13 or so to buy a domain. I've noticed that most company's use that age as a cut off.

Probably being that 13 is the age you are suppose to be give out personal identifiable information ;) .

No age for domain registration, but maybe to have a credit card and use it ;-)

I wouldn't expect a 1 year old baby to fill the form with his own credit card

lol. what I dont understand is you can be under 18 to buy a domain but you have to be over 18 for almost any webhost to accept you. Wanted to get a vps for my son but hes not old enough and they dont allow cross accounts where i tried

I've never been asked for my age when buying servers, and we don't ask for it to our customers.

It's only hosting, not alcohol :D

A few hosts ask for age. :P A majority don't though. Just put the VPS under your name. ;)
