I got another cup coaster from AOL the other day (aka AOL CD). I was interested to see they are still offering 1000 free hours, with no credit card needed. I used to have AOL and wanted to see how it is these days, I start the installation, it completes, I then sign-on for the first time. And what do you know, they want my Credit Card Number, I tried to bypass this however, could not figure out how.
This is clearly false advertising, however I could not find out how to get a free account without putting in my information.
Is it me, or does this happen to everyone.

As it says, there is no credit card needed for AOL. I know they also allow you to pay via Check, and other options. You can call 1-888-265-8003 for billing Inquiries.

Hmm, I'd like to see the fine print on that CD they distribute. If they are advertising no credit card needed for the free hours, then dang it, if I try to install it, I want to use it with NO CREDIT card. Sue them for <dr. evil> ONE BILLION DOLLARS! </dr. evil>

Jeremy, it would take a billion dollars just to fund your own legal team to sue them... :)

we could form a coalition and collectively sue for 1 billion dollars, and we'd probably end up winning about 10 dollars a piece!! haha
