Wow, that's quite expensive. I'm assuming it's mainly because of the dvd/cd-rw combo drive.

Mine I got for twelve hundred plus, but no DVD combo drive :bawling: . Basically the same specs as zdwebhosting's laptop. :D

Sounds like a nice machine. Since you're already bought it, don't worry if it was a good deal -- just enjoy it!

depends entirely on the brand as to how good it is. my ibm a21m is p3 700, 256mb ram, cost about 3000 dollars, the laptop before that was a tosh portege p3 500 192 mb ram and cost about 4000 dollars. i could have got the same specs nearly for about half the price with a different brand but it would have been a waste of money. ibm and tosh rule :)

Hi, the brand is "Medion" so no points there, but is really going well and is my 2nd "Medion" - 1st one still going fine (P3) but wanted another as an upgrade.
Bought from UK Staples and includes the "Nero Burning" software for burning CD's.

I agree I could have bought a better name for twice the price, but that wasn't really what I wanted to do!

Most things are much more expensive in the UK compared with US so it is good to find a bargain every now and again. :)
