Hi,

I'm looking into reselling domain names, and have narrowed it down to using either Enom or GoDaddy. Both look good, but I'd like to go with the best.

So... any current resellers have any thoughts on which registrar is best? Any recommendations? good or bad experiences, etc.?

Also, if anyone has used *both* of these registrars, I'd love to hear your view on which one is better for reselling.

Thanks... I look forward to your comments!

:)

I am seriously considering reselling domain names myself too, but may I ask why OpenSRS/Tucows is not on your short list?

I've been wondering for a while why Enom & GoDaddy seem to dominate this forum.

I chose OpenSRS recently for several reasons but reliability and stability were my main concerns.

If I lose customers because my system doesn't work then fine, but if I lost customers because my registrar's system was down I wouldn't be happy. I'm not for one minute saying Enom & GoDaddy have problems in this area, but OpenSRS are known to have a good, stable solution and API.

I have been assuming that the only reason people don't use OpenSRS is price, but now that GoDaddy have announced price increases, this argument seems redundant.

Is there another reason why OpenSRS gets very little attention on here?

Where did you read that GoDaddy increases their prices? If anything else, they have dropped pricing for the .US domains and increased the free features, while making transfers a piece of cake.

I use in that order:

enom
stargate
godaddy

They are pretty good. Individual client control panels. They have my vote. The set up is quick and the response to questions pretty decent.

I've never used Godaddy.

To answer the above questions:

Nameslave: Actually, OpenSRS is the main registrar I use today. I like them a lot -- never had a single problem. The reason they're not on my short list is this: since I want to become a reseller (and due to the increasingly competitive market) price is a big consideration, and OpenSRS is more expensive than Enom and GoDaddy. Now, that doesn't mean I'll use the cheapest guy on the block *just* because of price... but Enom and GoDaddy seem to be pretty reliable, from what I've heard.

Zander: see above. :)

If anyone else has any input on Enom and GoDaddy, especially in regards to reselling, I'd appreciate the info.

Thanks!
