HI,

Few of my client's sites are going down in specific time everday, for example everyday at 2pm.

This is interesting, where may be the problem?

It would help if you were more specific, the topic and post are vague..

Are you sure the problem is with the ISP's cache?

Are you the ISP, and what are you providing?

If dialup, is it the radius server? Is it even on your end, or the networks?

What services are you providing the clients and by using what software?

yes, most vague a post here.

1. there are lots of things that can go on from your connection to your site. many networks are in between usually. first thing to do is to do a "traceroute" to the ip address and see how the route is going.

2. if you see any timesouts, try to ping thru the time out points and see if there is actual congestion.

3. everyday at 2pm may be the high point for your isp and thus their pipes "could" become saturated at that point.

however, there is no conclusion as there could be a number of reasons why your site goes down everyday.

but I do not understand the ISP Cache topic....what do you mean by this?

Hi,

I am not sure, where is the problem. I am running cpanel and gave gave hosting for my clinets.

I jsut assumed ISP caching the name server and having this issue.

is the site going down via the logs?

or are you not able to get to it via the internet...? and at that, are you trying from multiple networks?

you could go to www.traceroute.org and try from multiple networks and just see what you could see. that might lead you to an answer.

hope that helps.
