universal2001 11-03-2002, 06:16 PM what made you sell and where do your customers come from? e.g. search engines, forums, ??? I would like to know so i get to know what sort of customers you have.
AmericanBizTech 11-03-2002, 10:09 PM So you have 400 clients, by my math, if each client only represents one domain, that's 5.00 per account per month.
Not worth the time and the hassle to move, integrate and deal with the purchase ... those cheap accounts draw the customers but devalue the company and ruin any exit strategies a hosting company may have.
My 2 cents....
mpope 11-03-2002, 11:06 PM Yes, but maybe some of them are yearly customers that are due to renew in a couple of months. Would you care to comment on this loballhostin?
I think you would get some good offers if you posted a little more info, how many customers on each plan, how long they have been with you , monthly , yearly that sort of thing would be nice to know. Please give us some details.
loballhostin 11-04-2002, 12:23 AM More than half of our hosted domains are on the $9.95 plan,
And the other three plans are about even. Every account is also monthly.
There is a monthly income of $2,500 this last month. We can easily get over 100 new clients every month if I had the time to do so.
I am selling because I am about to go off to college, and time is not on my side. So it would be impossible to run this pretty good size hosting company.
Loballhosting.com has been nagged at by the BBB (better business berau) to join the community because many people have asked about us, and leave good comments.
We've won the "best of the best" award on www.hostingcatalog.com.
Most clients are coming from word of mouth, About 90% are from the United States.
Over head costs are two servers from rackshack, which runs $200.00 for total cost, and advertising for 60 new accounts run about another $200.00, a license for cpanel which is $500.00 total overhead.
The site is very attractive, laid out well, and very well known.
I just don't have the time to run it, and need cash for college.
thanks,
-Mike
bkiesz 11-04-2002, 01:43 AM Mike,
How many adult sites do you run? This will factor in on the price as many of us do not host adult sites ?
Also, your post stated that half of your clients are at the $9.95 plan which equates to $2,000 of your $2,500 leaving $500 or so to split up between your other clients. ($2.50 per client).. I'm not beating up on your figures on purpose, just trying to understand the math. This is key... especially if your asking price is $20K.
If you would like, please e-mail me at barry@visionhosting.net and we could get down to the specifics.
Barry
It may be possible that the $2500 is profit?
AmericanBizTech 11-04-2002, 06:43 AM I would be interested as well but need a better breakdown. If you want, please email me with more details.
weeps 11-04-2002, 09:01 AM If you want to know more about his business and plans why don't you visit his website?
AmericanBizTech 11-04-2002, 09:06 AM I don't think any of us were talking about his plans.. I'm sure we all visited his site. I, like others here, want some sort of P&L.. a financial statement... of course, I'm not sure they teach that in high school.
Over head costs are two servers from rackshack, which runs $200.00 for total cost, and advertising for 60 new accounts run about another $200.00, a license for cpanel which is $500.00 total overhead.
Advertising for 60 new accounts... 200.00... Is this for banners? What kind of advertising? Where? I am not a cpanel user... 500.00 per month? One time?
He is using the term overhead... meaning recurring monthly costs....???
And as asked above... what is the breakdown on customers... the math doesn't add up.
loballhostin 11-04-2002, 12:45 PM ICQ me for more information. As there is more information about how I got my figures, ect. And yes, we do host adult sites.
I just personally can't tell to much about financials, ect, since I get great return on advertising, I would be a fool to let out my secrets.
please ICQ me or email me.
-Mike
directtech 11-09-2002, 04:48 PM That price is actually very good. If he's making $2,500 per month, the investment would be made up in less than 8 months if you consider the growth rate. I had an offer on one of my hosts for $10,000 and it only has 100 clients but my average ticket is $25.00 per client.
Do you have any growth rate stats? How long have you been in buisness?
addaction 11-09-2002, 05:14 PM $20K is way too much for this kind of income. I would say 3x monthly income = $7500 is more realistic, but if someone wants to buy this company for $20K I'll be the first one to wish them good luck!
