Have a domain registerd with Namecheap.

Have a server registered with Serverminds . Im used to my server company providing me with nameserves that I can go into my domain name provider and just point to.

Sadly my server company said they do not usually host nameservers for people.

Can anyone recommend how I can point my domain to my server ?

You can use everydns.net or other free dns option! I am using everydns.net, just have some admin-friends there, take a look there. You can add up to 6 dns servers. If you need help with setup, pm me.

You can also use namecheap's free dns that comes with every domain.
Just click on All Host Records in the domain menu..

Also you need to point A-records for www and @ to the host's IP/server.

Coax, I will try the namecheap method you mentioned . Only question is there is a drop down list to the right of www & @ with the below options. Which options do I choose ?

url redirect
url frame
a (address)
cname (alias

Thanks

If its a dedicated server that you are having, you can run your own DNS on it. Are you using any control panel and what operating system?

Well, if you decide to use namecheap, make an A-record to the server IP (@), and then CNAME the www to the @ that way you only need to update @ when changing ip's..

If your using cPanel to manage your domain you will need to contact your Web Host as only WHM has access to edit DNS entries.
