Is anyone using Dotster's API? If so, please send the address of your domain registration.

I'd like to see any ASP or PHP front-ends to the API.

Also, the older version of the API had a zip that contained examples in ASP, JSP, and CFM. They stopped offering it when the new API was out because it was incompatible, but I'd still like to get my hands on this zip if anyone has it.

Thanks!

As far as I know the actual API is powerful, but I'm not much of a programmer. I like Dotster's reseller programs a lot more than I do eNom's. Domains are $10, but you don't have to pay thousands in order to become a reseller like eNom.

I just had the misfortune of having to use Dotster. I bought a 3 letter .NET from someone who had it at Dotster. I created a free account and he transfered it in. It took me 10-15 minutes to change the contact info. You have to change and update each of the 4 categories seperately and it takes their server forever to update each one...you can make a cup of coffee waiting for it to say "update compete" each time.

There are 3 checkboxes at the bottom that say "Use the same contact for [registrant|admin|tech|billing].

I know. But you have to click the "Copy" button, then click update for each one and wait about 2 minutes before the screen says complete each time. Insane and slow interface. With enom or opensrs you change all fields at once and the the update happens in secs not minutes. By the way I updated the contact info last night and it's still not showing the new info in the whois. It's the worst interface I've used so far... well since NetSol's email change form at least.

I'm not sure what you're talking about as far as the copy button and slowness. Are you going through a Reseller or going directly to Dotster? I just registered 2 domains about 10 minutes ago and it wasn't slow at all. I put in the Registrant and checked to use the same info for all 3 other contacts. I didn't have to hit copy or update for each one.

If you now want to "change" the contact info you will find out what I'm talking about. You can't change all the contact categories at once... you have to update each one seperately... and its very slow when doing this. I was going through dotster directly.
