Does anybody have any experience with them?

I whold get a server it than beacuse the cheapest acount is over a T1. And i will not get a dedicated on a server that gives me a lower link than me here in Brasil ( 2Mb/s DSL ).

And the 100 Mb/s plan they charge a $3 per Gb it a min. 100 Gb..

I don't know but RS charges $ 1.50 and i'm pisted it that..The only place i recomend is United beacuse they charge a diferent pricing betwen plans.
( $49 - $0.80 per Gb )
( $99 - $0.70 per Gb )
( $199 - $0.50 per Gb )
( $299 - $0.50 per Gb )

And for me the ping to ( www.rackforce ) it's 230 ms.
I will not get a lower band host that's is 50 ms more far from Brasil ( my future client's ).

But good luck

We have a number of boxed with them, but have put any future ones on hold due to some billing problems we have had with them.

hostingsp,

you have clearly demonstrated complete cluelessness regarding technical issues in your previous posts regarding deds. sorry to be blunt, but you are in no position to hand out advice.

Will you tell me (or PM me) what kind of problem it was?
I'm now considering to have a box with them, and I'd like to know
it in advance.

Thank you.

I'm sorry to say this but to me the customer service at Rackforce is the worst. And believe me, I have my reasons.

Just curious, what customer service problems have you had with them? I've always gotten more than I expect when I've asked for anything.

hostingsp- try and learn from other peoples comments and see how they assess suppliers. price isnt everything. unitedcolo isnt in the same league as rackforce

and what problems are people having?

Try pinging 64.141.68.35

It's a server of mine I have at rackforce.

I've always had good results there, personally.

Also, if anyone happens to check that IP at the moment, I am doing some maintenance, so there may be downtime not related to rackforce. It will be temporary.

As far as what I've seen from their customer service, it's been stellar. That's what I've heard from others, and why I went to them in the first place. They don't leave you hanging when you need them, and they usually do things you need without you specifically asking them. It's not just the tech side either. They work very well together.

I am still interested to see what the issue was that wasn't resolved with dominicohare.

skelley1,

seems like you are a happy customer.
could you please tell me more about their network stability/speed. Because as I`ve said their ping is very bad realatively to other providers.

thanks!

ping is a very poor judge of a server. it actually only tells you the time between you and the computer. tracert and downloads will tell you a bit more about how a server actually works. you could be getting bad pings due to variables outside of rackforce's network.

The reliability of my server there has been perfect. Obviously at some point they will have some issues, but every place will. With the skills I've seen from Ian (their head guru) I would imagine that they could stand attacks as well as anyone.

Here is information regarding their network as stated on their site:

Is connected to the Internet via redundant, full-duplex fiber-optic connections to multiple backbone providers.

Is located in a seismically and meteorologically stable geographic area.

Is directed by redundant BGP4 routers and VLAN distribution switches.

Is served by powerful shared or dedicated Linux machines that are custom built for speed and stability.

Is powered by uninterruptible power systems with backup diesel generators.

Is protected in our Data "Vault" which features:
a) redundant HVAC temperature control systems
b) smoke and moisture alarms
c) advanced fire suppression systems
d) two-stage secure entry
e) steel mesh enforced walls and steel entrance doors
g) motion sensors and security cameras

If you want to get an idea of their customer service, go to http://rackforce.com and click on to talk to a rep. They pop up and see if they can help you a lot of the time. Every issue I've had with them (which has been minor) has been resolved as soon as I brought it up. Cust. service isn't a problem there.
