View Full Version : Moving a Parked Domain

I already have a very own Ubuntu server, but I will launch it online about 5 months.
The main things we will do with it, is making our ROM hacks of DSHack online, so no longer free hostings with limited share times! :-)
And there are also some side functions I want to use.
Like there is an Autism Clinic that maybe wants to get rid off their free hosting soon.
Their site is a free hosted on Home.Hetnet.nl (some kinda FreeWebs, but worse).
And they have Parked a .nl domain somewhere else.

So my question is, even through they have Parked their domain and have registered, is it possible to create a domain in cPanel or PLESK (or Webmin, DirectAdmin), and Park their domain on my hosting?

And if it's possible, can you explain me how?
I currently have Webmin and a not yet tested cPanel (and yes, I still have to choose).

Does your hosting allow add on domains? You can usually see that in Cpanel if its set up for you.

Change the Nameservers of the parked domain to your current hosts Nameservers and then add this 'parked domain' using the Parked Domains link in your cpanel account. Allow 72 hours for DNS propagation :)

I don't know.

How do I change it?
Not too advanced, I am (or in other words, will be) new in giving Webhosting.
I mean, I already own domain names and webhosting, but not on my own server.

You must have entered an email_id at the time of registering the domain name (which you have parked now). Search that email_id and you will get the login details for the domain name in question.

Login to the domain_control_panel and change the nameserver. (Note: the domain should be unlocked for u to be able to change the nameserver )
