View Full Version : Hostmatix.com is a NO NO!!!

For the past year I have been trying different hosts and Hostmatix.com is the worse one I had.

On their website they claim that their uptime is 99.97%. Well, this is a lie. My site has been down so often that I think it's more like 70% uptime. FTP is slow, page loading is slow... Aghhh!

They have chat support on their website which is mostly unavailable, but when it is they will keep you on "hold" for an hour at least!

I am really patient, and one day I actually waited enough to get to talk to a real person. I told her that my site is down way too often and that I am really not happy about it blah, blah, blah... She promised that she'll move my sites to a new server which is faster. Guess what? She did. But, there is a but. She moved week old version of my site and week worth of my work was gone.

It maybe was one time problem that happened to me, but not the uptime. Their site as well as mine went down soooo often that it made me mad enough to find this forum and post this message.

Hope this will help someone avoid having go through hell I did.

P.S. This forum is great. I'll be definitely posting more reviews of hosts for I tried so many of them.

I have hostmatix, and my site is just fine. Their tech support can be a little slow sometimes, but no big issues with them.

It probably will ;)

Did you have *any* good hosts in that year? If so, why not post a review for the better experiences too??

P.S. This forum is great. I'll be definitely posting more reviews of hosts for I tried so many of them.

Welcome :wavey: Want a ??? :D Continuation from above...post the good reviews too ;)

I'm with hostmatix and I'd say the uptime guarantee is a lie too, it guarantee to all of you out there that they do not have 99.7% uptime, it's more of a 75% to 80% as pcman has stated...

If you are so upset about it, then why are you still with them? Why not move to another host & quit your complaining?

I've only been down once with hostmatix which was @ 1am for a short time, which was most likely a server reboot. Glad they did it @ 1am and not durring the day.

Just got an email from them after I told them about my problems and that I am moving my sites to another service.

"Hello,

Eugene, I am sorry that you were not pleased with our services and it did not exceed your expectations.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to show you our services. We are sorry that it was not what you were looking for. Also please note that HostMatix.com will not loose in business by loosing such a client like you, on other hand you won't make us rich by paying US$ 12.00 / month. We are having valued and respectable clients which are really loyal to us. "

Since they think of their customers as US $ per month it explains their deprived support. How can I be loyal to them when my site is down at least an hour a day and I get a time outs when uploading more than 3 pictures at once??

:eek:That's just down right rude! Do they have a rep on the forums here?

I actually am moving my sites to a new hosting. And I am not complaining, I am trying to tell people here about my experience. Isn't what this forum is for?

By the way, you probably got lucky if your site was down only once or maybe you didn't cach it a couple of times. I personally don't like to see Apache's "Hey it worked!" page in the middle of the day instead of my site because they are having problems with their Apache.

Thats is damn out of order!!!!

When I was with JMR Hosting I sent them an email saying I wasn't happy with downtime (they had problems as rackshack.net had messed up their servers) they replied very politely and said they respected my decision that once they had sorted it, uptime would be perfect, garanteed, which it was! The only reason I carried on with them was because of the quality support I received.

What that guy/gal said, as akash said, was rude and was out of order.

Good luck on your next host.;)
