Hey Guys i need some advice. I am now expanding my network and need a bit of help.

I currently own a domain. Say ***********.

now, in my domain provider i would like to create the child name server ns101.xxxxx.com & ns102.x***********. I would like to point x*********** to this. (this has been done)

However, I would like this ns101&102.*********** to point to a dns server i will setup with a DNS control panel (i need some recommendations).

Now in this dns panel i would like to create more name servers. So ns1.*********** ns2.x*********** so that would be the address of my first server, then ns3&4 (second server) etc etc.

Now what opensource or cheap DNS panel can do this, because i am sure it is possible.

Thanks,
Nathaniel

I'm very confused.

To register a nameserver, you will need to have an IP address provided by your hosting provider. Then you "register" that IP with your nameserver at internic.com... typically this is done through your registrar's control panel interface.

For example, here is a registered nameserver:

http://reports.internic.net/cgi/whois?whois_nic=ns1.google.com&type=nameserver

In other words.. having your own nameservers involves more then just creating a bunch of DNS entries.
