View Full Version : Help - Cpanel or my SQL?
PC Gatek 04-25-2009, 10:34 PM I managing my server by myself since my admin gone. You can access my website www.glodokshop.com. Its an online shopping, one of largest in Indonesia.
My server crashed often.
My server using Cpanel ver 11.24.4-S35075 - WHM 11.24.2 - X 3.9 on Centos 4.7 i686 standard.
When it crashes, the domain didn't work but only with ip to access server, all service status green, no failed indication. But after I reboot (and took 15 minutes to reboot) all work find.
My friends told me that mySQL broken and affecting server to crash. Some of my friend blame to cpanel and suggest me to do update.
I can't understand how to find and repair mySQL. I try using WHM 'Repair a database' menu, but nothing happen.
My Cpanel update preferences all have been set to automatic.
Im not master in mySQL, and always using phpMyAdmin to access mySQL.
How to make my server stable? Any suggestion for me?
jcroom 04-25-2009, 11:26 PM something with DNS maybe?
larry2148 04-25-2009, 11:58 PM The server only being available by IP address doesn't sound like a problem with mysql. Can you let us know some more details such as how often and what exactly happens?

Can you explain more specific?
When the trouble occurs I'll try to restart DNS Server (with my WHM panel) but not worked.

UnderHost 04-26-2009, 02:52 AM DNS issue not related with mysql, http://www.intodns.com/glodokshop.com
040Hosting 04-26-2009, 02:59 AM It seems to be a DNS issue, but i would recommend to hire an administrator for your system to check everything. There are plenty of companies offering re-active or even pro-active server management. If you have indeed such a large site you should have technical assistance to make sure everything keeps working each outage would cost you money.

I still looking to hire new administrator but noone expertise enough. Almost of them didn't know about DNS setting or cpanel in deep. Since looking for new employee is not easy, I would rather to try to solve this by my self or use any third party companies, could you suggest me the company to do this? Or try DNSstuff.com first?

But now I found something, the Apache service. When my web down, I ll try to restart the apache service and suddenly my web coming up again.
Why at cpanel server status, my apache service not reporting bad? (still green indicator)
Why my apache stopped? My processor can not handle anymore, is it right?
RHS-Chris 04-27-2009, 08:30 PM Could be many things, I suggest you take a look at the httpd logs. If you are not familiar with the terminal, you can install a CPanel addon called LogView to help you view your logs right through the WHM interface:
http://www.logview.org
To install:
http://www.logview.org/content/view/5/26/
PC Gatek 04-29-2009, 09:30 AM Thanks RHS-Chris and everybody who try to help me.
Finally my server become more stable a little better than before after setting up my apache memory limits. Maybe I have to install 1 processor again :)
Tx U all
ServerManagement 04-29-2009, 01:22 PM Glad to hear you're up and running again!
