Hi. I am having two questions. I have tried placing both on SWSOFT's forum, but the first received no replies and the second was not accepted, probably because I refered to cPanel.

1) Is Plesk 9.0.1 already stable enough for use on production servers?

2) Does the Plesk Application Vault have an update function? So I can easily update Wordpress 3.5 to 3.7 via Plesk? I have been told cPanel had this function?

I have several clients who use wordpress and Cpanel with WHM and it does not automatically update WP

We don't us plesk on our servers, so I can't comment on the new release, sorry.

That is actually Fantastico. And thats only if Fantastico has an upgrade for it and you have to do it manually. If you installed any addons to it those would be overwrote I'm assuming, or just break the installation.

That is correct, I run Centos5 for our operating systems and as you all know I'm sure the wget is broken in the current release for Centos5 so Fantastico don't work. We don't offer it anyway, as we do all the requested upgrades for our clients manually, part of the deal

cPanel/WHM's native functionality (cPAddons) also has this. Users are notified when updates are available for scripts they install by clicking the Site Software icon in their cPanel interface. In WHM, administrators can force upgrades for all scripts on a server installed in this fashion if they desire (or just on a per-user basis etc.).

Are you looking for information about cP or Plesk?

For Plesk:
1. Yes probably. It does seem stable with no real show stoppers but if i were to deploy a new server tomorow it would be 8.6

2. Not that I know of. Personally I would say look at installatron which is said to be very good (i consider the AV in plesk pretty poor) though again we dont actually use it on any servers any more.

1)Right now acctualy 9.2.1 is out and its pretty stable.

2)you can update the basic installation, for the "new" installs, i dont think that you can upgrade the allready installed worpress's.

We had a very stable operation with our 8.6 nodes.
Nightmares started since we upgraded to 9.2.x about a month ago.
I would say, the features are awesome, but the system is just never stable ever since.
And there's no chance to come back to 8.x after upgrade.

We are using Plesk 9.2 on our newer Windows servers and its working very well. The only thing is that the migration manager from the older 8.x version to 9.2 fails and throws errors alot so it takes a bit to migrate sites. Nothing like speed of cPanel migrations.

As for the application vault. It works well but I am unsure of the upgrade process.
