capofret 04-24-2009, 11:53 AM i was able to access it few hours ago and i even uploaded files to prepare for my site, then after sometime i cant anymore.
i keep getting this message:
The requested site did not respond to a connection request and the browser has stopped waiting for a reply.
* Could the server be experiencing high demand or a temporary outage? Try again later.
* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.
* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.
* Still having trouble? Consult your network administrator or Internet provider for assistance.
what i did?
1.check firewall settings-off
2.check with 3 different browsers opera, firefox, ie - all didnt work, i still get errors.
3.installed regsvr32 files
and tried other solutions on the web, but still the problem persists.
i already contacted my host and gave me alternate link, still doesnt work. btw, im on reseller plan. i got it 3 days ago.
pls help anyone.
RHS-Chris 04-24-2009, 12:17 PM Sounds like you IP has been banned from the server, ask your host to check this for you.
larry2148 04-24-2009, 01:27 PM Check on a friends computer or through a proxy. Many people on CPanel have CPHulk running, which will ban IP's after a specified number of unsuccessful login attempts etc. If this is the case send your IP the host and ask them to remove it from the block list.

cPHulk doesn't actually block you from making a connection, it just blocks you from trying to login to cPanel/WHM. The issue here is most likely the IP got placed in a firewall.
downforeveryoneorjustme.com should tell you if others can make a connection to your site. Are you sure all your DNS settings are correctly set up for your domain?

i already did that, and yes i can login. but not for my pc, which is using a different IP. maybe its my IP causing the problem for me. thanks for reply.

Outlaw Web Master 04-24-2009, 10:24 PM looks like your ftp program triggered the server firewall and blocked your ip...it's not an uncommon event...I've been there too, many moons ago.
email your host company with your server ip and tell them to unblock your isp's ip.
maybe even try them on live support if they have it, or even call them.
also..ask them to add your IP to the server's firewall allow rules to prevent it happening again.
owm
gilbert 04-24-2009, 10:33 PM Good luck if you are still having IP troubles just contact the host that sold you the reseller account and tell them that you think there firewall has blocked you.

you also have a point there, i installed smartftp to upload my files. then when i restarted my pc, i cant login anymore. do u think uninstalling the program will solve the problem?
and yes, im fortunate that they have good live support and replies to my ticket fast.
VIPoint 04-25-2009, 04:02 AM Did you provide your cpanel login details in smartFTP when you configured it ? It may be because you provided the login details wrong and the server firewall blocked you because of too many login failures.
1) Check the SmartFTp configuration
2) Request your host to to remove your ip from the firewall_deny and add it to firewall_allow so that you don't get blocked in future.
Have a nice day
