how can I find a tool that lets you know how many domains are associated with nameservers. For example if you type in ns1.domain.com it will show that there is 500 domains that are set to those name servers. Anyone know of such a tool???

Check this out - http://www.bitserve.com/cgi-bin/query.pl

I don't know how accurate it is, but it's worth a shot. :)

Verisign has the same tool but I can't remember where it is.

That tool can check nameservers which are in Netsol's databases only. It does not work with nameservers registered with ENom, Dotster etc.

I just want it so I can see how many people have thier domain pointing to my nameservers that I am no longer using so I can contact them to have them changed...

if you download verising zone files and make a search script to strip all the lines that match your query you can do that.

I think you need to ask for an account to verisign so you can download the zone file.

I remember i saw a program that do that for you, the searching of a nameserver and would return all the info about asociated domains and contact information, though this would be a hell of a tool for a spammer.

Ill post the name of the program and url as soon as i remember it;)

Maybe if one of you email matt for the hostfly script he'll give it to you. He had it running on here a long time ago, but I don't know if he'll want to release it.

Also now times have changed where hosting providers use anonymous nameservers, so the results that you will get might not be as accurate as they can be. (unless you know the hosts anonymous nameservers name)

If you tell me the nameservers i'll be happy to email you a list of domains that point to them. I can only cover com/net/org not the new TLDs or ccTLDs.
