This is something I wouldn't mind researching a little more... maybe give the referrals a monthly percentage or something...

Does anyone do this? Does it help with business? How much for a 3rd company to manage this? Or am I best doing it myself with a script?

Not sure how much referrals help with business but I know that http://ispmanagerinabox.com has an affiliate comission system built into it. I would manage it yourself if you like to control every aspect of your business.

Inhouse: go for http://groundbreak.com (they got a good script)
Outsource: go for http://cj.com (huge network of ready affiliates)
