Hello all, here is the deal -
I just picked up a new client and here are the specs I am roughly looking for in a host -
$20-$100 a month
prefer unix/linux
cgi-bin
php
(available database) I can adapt to any
static ip
Real Server
800+ megs
Pretty High Transfer allowance as their will be audio/video streams and wish to allow for broadband options of each....
Their record label is paying for the hosting and just asked me to send them some suggestions.
This is ALWAYS the first place I look :)
Thanks,
avara

I've heard many good things about Ventures Online and WeinBar.

Jeremiah: Sorry your question had to deteriorate into a spam exchange. I'm sure I speak for most people here when I say we don't like spam, and like it even less when someone tries to disguise it as a testimonial.
To answer your question: Off hand I can't think of a host that offers 800 megs in the price range you're talking about (although I'm sure they're out there). What you may want to do is ask a host if they'll combine two packages to give you the space you need. For example, http://www.allaboutchoice.com has a 400 megabyte package for around $25; combine two of these and you have 800 megabytes for around $50.
I'm sure someone here knows a place with that much space in a single package, but combining two packages may give you more options in choosing a reliable host.

It did get sort of strange there for a while :) Thanks for cleaning all that up.
I never thought of asking a company to combine packages. Thank you for the suggestion! This will definately provide more options :)
Thanks again,

After lots of looking, I have narrowed the list down to these -
http://www.jaguarpc.com - (Supreme Plan) http://www.site5.com - (WebExecutive Plan) http://www.venturesonline.com - (Venture 5 Plan) http://www.atomhost.com - (700MB Plan) http://www.wizardshosting.com - (Plus 500 Plan)
http://www.allaboutchoice.com - (400MB Plan)
http://www.weinbar.com - (Platinum Plan)
I will probably try to combine 2 packages wherever I go. (Thanks again for the suggestion)
All of these must be pretty good because most of the references I found here were positive.
Just wanted to see if any of you want to share experiences good/bad you have had with any of these or even if you want to suggest another host please do!!!!
Thanks,
jeremiah

I have decided to go with Hosting 4 Less (http://www.hosting4less.com). They gave me a non-advertised package with a high level of bandwidth/space :)
Thanks for all the suggestions!
