Now, think really hard on what sets your services apart from the million or so web hosting companies. If you're trying to get rich then my advice is to find something else to do. Hosting is actually a *lot* of work and you really have to do something special to stand out and "make it". It's not easy, if you have a solid plan you can achieve it but I know that personally it took over a year for me to be able to quit my "day job" which meant for over a year I was working two jobs full time and really only getting paid by one of them. ronaldv 04-13-2009, 03:56 AM I suggest you to work hard, be original and have patience! ldcdc 04-13-2009, 12:01 PM The state of economy will jut be extra trouble, where the job wasn't easy in the first place. There are tens of thousands if not hundred of thousands of hosting resellers. Unless you find something to make you stand out from the crowd, or limit the impact of this competition, you can't win. Many go local (servicing businesses they can meet face-to-face). In many cases, that's still a market easy to tap into, with higher profit margins and little to fear from fellow resellers, even those located just a couple hundred miles away. xyclonehost 04-13-2009, 12:33 PM Tap your local area for businesses and tell them how switching to you will benefit them more. But of course when you do that, you need to fulfill whatever you have promised them. If you mention that by hosting with a local provider, easier for billing, easier to request for support, then it better be that way. caredding 04-13-2009, 02:49 PM Thanks Guys for the advice and support. I really appreciate it. |
