You need to have:

1. A reseller account with a good domain registrar. (ie: eNom.com is the largest domain reseller provider -- I highly recommend using them.)

2. Software for your website, so you can sell the domains, and allow your customers to manage them.

I recommend signing up as an eNom reseller, because they are very reputable, have good pricing.. and they also provide good software that you can use to get started within a few minutes.

- they offer the free "registry rocket" software, which allows you to basically specify your own prices, and then your customer goes to the website and purchases their domains. it works very well, and you can simply use an "iframe" to keep the customer on your own website instead of pointing them somewhere else.

This is the easiest and fastest way to start selling domain names with eNom.

If you don't want to pay up front and be a reseller then you can also become an affiliate with some of the different registrars. I am an affiliate with GoDaddy, Moniker, 1and1, and some other registrars for use with my DomainSuperstar.com website. Not saying that you shouldn't go the reseller route but if you don't want to have to outlay cash initially then maybe you should look into the affiliate route.

You can get AWBS software and a domain reseller account

AWBS or even WHMCS both integrate well with many registrars.

And if you dont want to buy then get it for FREE.
You can also just use the registrar's system to setup your front facing website. Most registrars offer this front facing reseller system. All you have to do is setup your paypal/payment gateway , point your dns , add your logo and your in business with domain.yourcompany.com or some other URL . Try resellerclub.com or dfordomains.com they both offer easy to use systems for resellers.
