I know that WebHostingTalk.com has been having a series of problems, of late, and while I don't disagree with a number of the criticisms levels against WHT for its shortcomings in those episodes, I wanted to take a few moments out, tonight, to also extend my appreciation unto WHT for it having a web hosting request feature.

In the coming weeks and months, there are several needs that myself and some people local to me will have for web hosting services.

I, myself, am looking to transition an existing website and domain name away from GoDaddy to a new web host. I really hate GoDaddy's control panel, and I am ready to try someone else's web hosting in their place, for that very reason. Otherwise, GoDaddy has been a very reliable web host for me during the time that I have used them.

While it would be nice to be able to receive more than just four web hosting offers following submission of such requests, at least four is better than none. This type of feature really does constitute a true service to members of the general public, such as myself, and while it is not a service that I typically have need of every day nor every week, when I do need to utilize such a feature, it takes on a very real degree of importance.

A web hosting request feature makes it more convenient for me, and helps to save me time. I may not always go with those offers that I receive following a particular request submission on my part, but even then it makes a nice starting point for my search for web hosting services.

Not all web hosting related forums are oriented to serving the web hosting needs of the public in such a manner. That makes it all the more important for WebHostingTalk to continue to offer a web hosting request feature via the forums here.
